The Role
Help keep BinSentry’s deployed sensor fleet, inventory measurements, and operational data accurate and reliable. As our Operations Quality and Systems Coordinator, you will review fleet performance, investigate discrepancies, validate customer inventory comparisons, and improve the processes that support this work.
Working closely with Operations, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering, you will turn findings into clear next steps and make recurring workflows more consistent, documented, and increasingly automated as BinSentry grows.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Quality
Own recurring fleet-quality reviews, using operational data and automated monitoring tools to ensure assigned equipment is reviewed consistently and on schedule.
Investigate issues involving equipment performance, installation, configuration, data quality, and operating conditions. Document findings, track next steps, and escalate issues to the appropriate teams for resolution.
Inventory Accuracy
Own the operational review of customer inventory comparisons and validation tests. Compare BinSentry results with reference information such as inventory movements, weight records, inventory reports, automation data, and manual measurements.
Distinguish system-performance issues from differences caused by configuration, operating conditions, or limitations in the reference information.
Summarize results, confidence levels, likely contributing factors, and recommended actions. Maintain searchable records of fleet-quality reviews and accuracy tests to identify trends and inform Operations, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
Operational Data
Validate bin, site, sensor, installation, and survey information, including dimensions, capacities, sensor placement, ingredients, and bin names.
Correct or flag missing, inconsistent, or conflicting information before it affects downstream operations or customer results.
Processes and Systems
Turn manual or loosely defined tasks into documented, repeatable workflows. Use APIs, structured data, dashboards, automation platforms, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency while maintaining human quality control.
Partner with Product and Engineering when improvements require changes to internal software or data access.
What Success Looks Like
Fleet-quality reviews run reliably, with potential issues identified, documented, and assigned clear next steps. Automated monitoring helps Operations identify and prioritize issues.
Customer accuracy tests follow a consistent, defensible process supported by clear calculations, evidence, conclusions, and follow-up.
Records make it easier to identify recurring patterns across bins, sites, customers, and issue types.
Recurring workflows are easier to execute and less dependent on manual administration, with automation maintaining or improving quality.
Operations has a dependable technical resource who can investigate complex problems across systems and translate operational needs into practical improvements.
Qualifications
Required
At least 3 years of experience in operations, quality assurance, data analysis, technical support, inventory management, or a similar analytical environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies methodically and identify patterns, missing information, and potential root causes.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to data quality and accuracy.
Clear written communication, including the ability to turn a detailed investigation into a concise conclusion and recommended next step.
Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage recurring work and open issues across customers, sites, devices, and internal teams.
Confidence working with numerical data, spreadsheets, dashboards, and internal software, and a willingness to learn tools that improve and automate recurring work.
Ability to work in the Kitchener office most days of the week.
Preferred
Experience with IoT devices, hardware-enabled software, fleet monitoring, industrial technology, or technical operations.
Experience using APIs, structured data, SQL, scripting, automation platforms, business-intelligence tools, or AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, dashboards, or internal tools. Software development experience is not required.
Experience in agriculture, feed or grain operations, inventory management, or another industrial environment.
