What You’ll Do
As an Associate Field Technician at Purepass, an Astro Pak company , you’ll receive hands-on training while travelling to customer sites to perform specialized chemical cleaning and passivation on fluid and gas systems that support mission-critical operations.
Based out of our Hamilton, Ontario site, this role involves more than 80% overnight travel , with approximately 30–50% night-shift work . Project schedules may include overtime, weekends, public holidays, and assignments on short notice, subject to applicable employment standards and accommodation requirements.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate specialized equipment for cleaning and passivation of vessels and piping.
Safely handle chemicals, including citric acid and caustics, following company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
Use required personal protective equipment and follow safe chemical-handling practices.
Load and unload equipment, supplies, and chemicals for projects.
Drive company vehicles to customer sites and operate equipment only when appropriately licensed, trained, and authorized.
Perform physical work in varied environments, including indoor, outdoor, and elevated work areas.
Maintain clean, organized workspaces in accordance with company housekeeping and 5S standards.
Complete required occupational health and safety, WHMIS, company, and task-specific training.
Travel extensively by land or air, including overnight stays.

Required Qualifications
Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license or equivalent, or the appropriate license class for assigned vehicles] , with a driving record meeting company requirements.
Willingness and ability to meet the role’s travel and scheduling requirements, subject to applicable accommodation requirements.
Strong basic math skills, including ratios and percentages.
Comfort using mobile technology and basic computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
English communication skills sufficient to understand safety instructions, communicate with customers and teammates, and complete job documentation.
Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the role, including lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 lb. (23 kg) and working in required PPE, with accommodation where required.
Preferred Qualifications
Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
Relevant college diploma, technical training, or trade certification.
Previous WHMIS, confined-space, or other relevant safety training.
Experience in hazardous chemical handling, equipment operation, or field service.

Compensation and Benefits
The starting pay range for this position is CAD $20–$22 per hour , based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Overtime and public-holiday compensation will be provided in accordance with applicable Ontario employment standards.
