Finance Manager, eReader

We are looking for a Finance Manager to partner with the global Kindle business inside Amazon’s Devices Division. As a Finance Manager, you will partner directly with the Kindle team to provide a full range of financial services for the product line including controllership, multi-year financial views, annual operating plans, near term forecasts and analysis for future products.

As a member of the Kindle financial team, you will directly influence key business decisions including pricing, promotional strategies and program economics.

• Key job responsibilities
• As a Finance Manager, you will work directly with business leaders to identify opportunities and provide key insights. Job responsibilities include:
• •Compile and review financial results and operational plans, communicating results to leadership.
• •Drive the core financial processes for the business, including three-year strategic plan, annual operating plans, and monthly/quarterly reporting and forecasting.
• •Lead key analytical projects that assist and influence the business.
• •Lead automation efforts of critical processes.
• •Develop business insights and KPI dashboards.

This role requires a self-starter with a passion for developing a team, a keen attention to detail, and an ability to set clear priorities in a high velocity organization. The successful candidate will have shown success in influencing business owners and supporting decision making in rapidly evolving environments.

This role also has regular interaction with executives to the vice president level and business units across Amazon, including international, and therefore requires possession of advanced interpersonal and communication skills.

Basic qualifications

• - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• - 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
• - 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
• - 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
• - 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
• - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
• - 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
• - 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience

Preferred qualifications

• - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
• - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
• - MBA, or CPA
• - Knowledge of SQL/ETL
• - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
