In financial operations at PwC, you will specialise in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations within organisations. Your work will involve assessing financial processes, identify areas for improvement, and design and implement solutions to streamline financial operations, enhance controls, and reduce costs. You will be responsible for providing guidance on financial systems implementation, process automation, and financial shared services.

A career in our Financial Transformation practice will provide the opportunity to work alongside CFOs, VP Finance and controllers to optimize their finance functions and improve their contribution to the business. We support our clients by analyzing needs, developing financial solutions, and offering guidance and support to help them optimize their financial performance, improve decision-making, and achieve their financial goals. In financial operations at PwC, you will specialize in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations within organizations. Your work will involve assessing financial processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing and implementing solutions to streamline financial operations, enhance controls, and reduce costs. You will contribute in providing guidance on financial systems implementation, process automation, and finance operating model.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Finance Transformation Manager, Enterprise Performance Management , you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues , deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Engagement Delivery

Work on challenging and rewarding engagements with multidisciplinary teams

Conduct organizational diagnostics on financial processes

Define business requirements for the acquisition and application configuration of EPM tools

Conduct analyses in support of process performance measurement and improvement initiatives ( e.g. costing, cost-benefit, benchmarking)

Establish credibility with existing and new clients by demonstrating subject matter expertise and knowledge in finance

Vendor and software selection (including business requirements gathering)

Lead or participate in organizational diagnostics on financial processes, financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and dashboard

Engagement Management

Support the engagement director / partner in managing engagement risk and project economics

Work to define and manage scope and objectives

Develop and foster relationships with client leaders and stakeholders

Identify , monitor and help resolve project issues and risks

Coach and train junior team members on technical and project management aspects of engagement

Prepare deliverable content

Review and ensure engagement deliverables meet PwC and client quality expectations

Business Development ​

Participate in aspects of the proposal development process

Contribute to proposal writing

Team with PwC colleagues in other lines of services in support of client needs for Finance Consulting services

Support the development of "thought leadership" and "point-of-view" documents

People Development

Share knowledge across the global PwC network

Provide input and guidance into the firm’s staffing/resource management process

Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities

Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

Must have 5-7+ years within consulting and software implementation

Hands on experience working with leading EPM applications or implementing EPM applications such as OneStream, Anaplan, Oracle EPM or SAP EPM or other

Experience in the following areas is an asset :

Multi dimensional data models (dimensions, hierarchies , attributes …)

Input template and report build

Data Integration and Extract Transform and Load (ETL) concepts

Understanding of calcs (allocation, top-down spreading, currencies)

Workflow, data permissions and Security

MBA and/or a CPA designation is an asset

Certified on one or more of the leading EPM applications is a plus as well as having experience in designing, building and testing EPM applications

Working expertise or understanding in many, if not all, of the core Accounting areas:

Performance Management - executive dashboards management reporting, planning, budgeting & forecasting, analytics & decision support

Record-to-Report – financial close, consolidation, financial reporting, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Payroll

An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, and an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work

Extensive experience and knowledge in Financial Management leading practices in process, technology, data, structure and people

Relevant experience in a managerial role on transformational initiatives, demonstrating knowledge of strategy, operations and technology used to serve their clients and stakeholders

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard

Demonstrated project management skills

When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French and English is required . Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset

The position requires regular communication with clients and stakeholders located outside Québec, primarily in English.

The salary range for this position is $112,400 - $162,400. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres . Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
