The Company
Octopus Legacy is one of the UK's fastest growing startups, helping over 1 million people plan for and navigate through death - but we're just getting started. After our founder Sam lost his mum suddenly, we built what the market had never seen: a service that combines estate planning and bereavement support with something genuinely human. Voice notes. Music. Recipes. A legacy that actually means something.
We're not competing in this space. We're redefining it. Backed by Octopus Group, we're the best positioned business in the market to scale across UK financial services, and we're moving fast. This role is how we get there.
The Role
As an Financial Adviser at Octopus Legacy you’ll be at the heart of one of our most exciting growth areas: delivering holistic, financial planning led advice to clients
You’ll have the opportunity to build your own book of clients from day one, with warm leads generated through our unique partnerships with over 100 UK charities, our will writing platform, and our wider Octopus Group network. This isn’t a cold calling role, it’s a genuine opportunity to build a meaningful, long term advisory practice within a high growth business.
You’ll sit within a broader financial services function but will have significant autonomy to shape your client relationships and approach. If you’re a driven, client centric adviser who wants to build something meaningful at scale, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Client Acquisition & Book Building
Create new business opportunities to build your own book of new clients
Convert warm leads generated through our will writing platform, charity partnerships, and Octopus Group network into long term client relationships
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects, tracking activity and progress through our CRM
Build a referral network over time as your client base grows
Financial Planning & Advice
Provide holistic financial advice with a financial planning led approach, understanding each client’s unique circumstances, goals, and aspirations
Help clients chart the course to live the lives they dream of, from retirement planning and investment management through to estate planning and legacy considerations
Produce clear, compliant suitability reports and financial plans tailored to each client
Stay current with regulatory requirements, product developments, and financial planning best practice
Client Relationships & Service
Deliver an exceptional client service experience at every touchpoint, building multi generational relationships with both mass affluent and high net worth clients
Conduct regular client reviews to ensure advice remains appropriate and relevant as circumstances evolve
Work sensitively and empathetically with clients around life events including bereavement, serious illness and estate planning
Ensure all client interactions and records meet FCA compliance and data protection requirements
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with our will writing, legal, and partnerships teams to ensure a seamless client experience across the Octopus Legacy product suite
Contribute feedback on client needs and market insights to help shape product and proposition development
Represent Octopus Legacy’s values and brand in all client and external facing interactions

A team player: our teams work in a close knit, collaborative way. You’ll be open to trying new approaches, sharing ideas and giving and receiving feedback in a constructive spirit
Integrity driven: we handle highly sensitive personal and financial data every day. Our people must hold the highest standards of personal and professional integrity, and conduct themselves in line with FCA requirements at all times
Qualified: you must hold a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice (CII, CISI or equivalent) and be authorised to provide regulated financial advice in the UK. Chartered status is strongly preferred, or a commitment to work towards it. You’ll also have at least two years’ experience providing financial advice to clients
You'll feel right at home if you're…
Helpful: random acts of kindness make the workplace a better place. Go out of your way to be helpful and give people reasons to smile
Straightforward: life is complicated enough. Don’t make it harder for yourself, or for others. Sometimes the simplest approach works wonders
Bold: every great business started with a flash of inspiration. If you’ve got a great idea, don’t keep it to yourself
