  • It’s a new Day 1 for Leo, and we are looking for team members to join the Accounting PMO supporting this emerging business.
  • This position supports the launch and expansion of Amazon Leo by contributing to strategic initiatives that help grow and scale the business. You will support controllership and scalability as you partner with global stakeholders — including business product managers, financial technology teams, accounting operations, business finance, tax, treasury, and others — to deliver highly scalable, secure, and flexible financial solutions. You operate effectively in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements, and prioritize.
  • Successful candidates bring experience across three disciplines: Accounting, Program Management, and Financial Systems Implementation. This role requires financial accounting knowledge, experience working with technology teams to design and build financial systems integration solutions, and the ability to support the launch and ongoing management of a financial integration program. You contribute to cross-functional decision-making and help drive implementation across a global scope, balancing time to market with investments in automation.
  • Key job responsibilities
  • Support cross-functional programs: Contribute to new and evolving programs by supporting end-to-end implementation activities, developing processes, metrics, documentation, and communications, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Partner with delivery teams: Collaborate with worldwide business, technology, and product teams to deliver high-quality program outcomes on time.
  • Analyze and recommend: Gather data, analyze results, and provide feedback on priorities, timelines, and outcomes to support business process decisions and scale financial recordkeeping health.
  • Communicate program status: Prepare clear updates and recommendations for stakeholders, translating complex information into actionable summaries for peers and leadership.
  • Build relationships: Collaborate with business, product, accounting, technology, and finance owners globally to support scalable financial automation with the highest degree of controllership.
  • Identify risks proactively: Surface potential issues early, propose mitigation options, and escalate appropriately to set the team up for success.
  • A day in the life
  • Your day typically begins with reviewing overnight readiness metrics and flagging critical issues that require attention.
  • Throughout the day, you:
  • Track key readiness activities and follow up with teams on readiness status and test progress.
  • Monitor test statistics, assist with testing activities, and validate accounting flows.
  • Analyze accounting test results and prepare recommendations for your team lead and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to partner delivery teams on accounting requirements and help drive issues to resolution — including identifying alternative solution options.
  • Prepare data-driven inputs for leadership meetings, translating complex analytics into clear summaries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, refine risk assessments for upcoming launches, and assist the Accounting team in resolving issues blocking deployment of Accounting features.
  • About the team
  • Our Finance team serves as a trusted partner to the business, providing the financial perspective leaders need to make informed decisions. We are a collaborative group that values analytical rigor, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to grow your technical and business skills while contributing to initiatives that improve how Amazon manages its financial operations.
