TerraVest Tanks MI LLC manufactures and refurbishes propane tanks that support homes and businesses across North America. PAY AND SCHEDULE

Starting pay: $18.00 per hour

$1,000 sign-on bonus

Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Three-day weekends every week

Stable, year-round work

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Finishing General Laborer, you will help prepare, powder coat, inspect, and move refurbished propane tanks through the finishing process. Employees are trained at multiple workstations and may rotate between assignments based on production needs.

Responsibilities may include:

Preparing tank surfaces using hand grinders, palm sanders, scrapers, and other approved tools

Loading and hanging tanks on the paint line

Using an air wand to remove dust and debris before powder coating

Applying powder coating with manual powder-coating equipment after completing required training

Unloading finished tanks and inspecting them for visible coating or quality issues

Identifying and reporting defects, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, and process concerns

Safely working around tanks that may rotate on powered rollers

Moving materials, tools, and supplies throughout the department

Keeping workstations, aisles, and equipment clean and organized

Following work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, quality requirements, and safety rules

Wearing all required personal protective equipment

Participating in training and cross-training at different finishing workstations

Working cooperatively with team leads, supervisors, maintenance, quality, and other departments

Completing other related duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in an active manufacturing environment. Employees may be exposed to powder, dust, noise, moving equipment, rotating tanks, and changing temperatures. Finishing bay doors may remain open during production, resulting in hot summer and cold winter working conditions.

Required personal protective equipment is provided. Employees assigned to manual powder coating wear protective clothing and supplied-air respiratory equipment as required.

Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment

Previous manufacturing, industrial painting, powder coating, grinding, or surface-preparation experience is helpful but not required

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

Standing and walking for most of a 10-hour shift

Frequently bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, and crouching

Reaching at or above shoulder height when using an air wand or completing other assigned work

Using hand grinders, palm sanders, scrapers, powder-coating equipment, and other hand tools

Maintaining sufficient grip strength and hand control to operate tools safely

Frequently lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate

Safely working around moving equipment and tanks rotating on powered rollers

Wearing required protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, protective clothing, safety footwear, and supplied-air respiratory equipment

Working in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, and powder-coating conditions
