Fire Protection Design Engineer, Data Center Engineering

Amazon Web Services is seeking an Fire Protection Design Engineer to become part of a global engineering team, responsible for the design and continuous innovation of our rapidly expanding data center foot print.

• Key job responsibilities
• - Design and oversee comprehensive fire protection systems for data centers worldwide

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement fire safety solutions

- Review and ensure compliance with international fire protection standards

- Provide technical guidance on fire protection engineering matters

- Support continuous improvement of design standards and methodologies

• Your day will be a dynamic blend of technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving. You'll engage with architects, engineers, and global teams to develop innovative fire safety strategies, conduct detailed analyses, and create comprehensive protection solutions that push the boundaries of technological safety.

Basic qualifications

• - Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
• - Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• - Experience in fire protection design engineering or construction

Preferred qualifications

• - Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
• - Licensed Fire Protection Engineer certification
• - Experience with performance-based fire protection design
