Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Fort Gordon, GA in Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Will work on shift 0500-1330 or 1000-1830. Shifts will rotate. Incumbent is subject to shift assignments on one of a 2 shifts per day, 5 out of 7 days a week schedule (operations run 7 days per week). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Delivers trays to patients within the 30 minute delivery schedule as posted on the menus.
  • Prepares and arranges food and beverage items (both hot and cold) for service, based on diet orders.
  • Records and retrieves recipes, menus, and inventory data.
  • Conducts final checks of diet trays and orders.
  • Record and maintain temperature logs

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Food Service Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Food Service Worker duties. I can follow instructions to prepare simple nourishments and food items and measure ingredients using basic measuring tools. I can assemble and deliver food trays and wrap individual servings. I can deliver and pick up patient trays, collect carts, and wash and sanitize dishware using a dishwasher. I can perform routine cleaning of carts, tables, floors, and work areas. I work under normal supervision from a work leader or journey-level worker who observes tasks in progress and upon completion. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical effort: Work involves light to moderate effort; continuous standing and walking. Frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending. Lifts up to 20 pounds unassisted, lifts more than 20 pounds with assistance. Working Conditions: Work in a kitchen environment with constant exposure to steam and heat from cooking and the dishwasher. Environment often uncomfortably hot, noisy and humid. Danger of slipping on freshly mopped floors or on floors where food has been spilled. Danger of cuts or serious burns due to exposure to hot liquids, sharp blades, and hot surfaces. Exposed to constant temperature changes when going from kitchen to refrigerators and freezers. Work area has adequate lighting.
