Food Services Assistant/Cook

Job Description:

About the Role

Under the direction of the Support Services Coordinator, the Food Services Assistant/Cook is responsible for plating, cleaning and providing meal services to all patients. You will prepare and produce simple meals, modify patient meals and fluids as per menu requirements for day, reheat all patient meals and serve in conjunction with the Coordinator on duty. You will also be responsible for the working area in accordance with the food safety plan and all production schedules and demands.

• •Prepare short order meals as required
• •Ensure core temperature has reached above 75 degrees
• •Monitor waste management
• •Maintain work area in accordance with Food Safety standards, including thorough kitchen cleaning and sanitizing
• •Inform coordinators of required food stock levels

Classifications for this position will range from IN13 - IN14 ($53,284 - $55, 648 per annum pro rata)

Your Contribution

• •Food Safety Certificate HLTFSE001
• •Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
• •Previous experience in an Aged Care environment (desirable)
• •A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History check, or willing to obtain

St George’s Health Service, located in Kew, provides a comprehensive aged care service, including inpatient care, evaluation and management, residential aged care, rehabilitation, acute psychiatry, as well as a broad range of community-based assessment and treatment services. Support Services provides all Environmental & Food Services to the hospital.
