Job Description

• Counterbalance FLT Driver – Trafford Park (M17)
• Salary: £28,624.43 + 33% shift allowance = £38,070.49 per year
• Shifts: Night shift, Sun–Thu (10pm - 6am)
• Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the role

We’re looking for a skilled Counterbalance FLT Driver to join CHEP – the global leader in pallet, crate, and container pooling. You’ll operate 4.5-ton triple fork FLTs in a fast-paced yard environment, supporting production and haulier operations.

What you’ll do

• •Safely operate FLT trucks to support production & haulier operations
• •Direct visiting vehicles during loading & unloading
• •Maintain smooth flow on production lines within agreed SLAs
• •Assist with manual inspection & repair of yard equipment
• •Report any damage or operational issues promptly
• •Handle and rotate stock safely and efficiently

What we need from you

• •Experience as a Counterbalance FLT Driver (busy yard/HGV loading preferred)
• •External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) is ideal – in-house licences considered
• •Experience with double/triple fork FLTs = big advantage
• •Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
