York Building Products is looking for a Forklift Operator/Laborer to help keep materials moving and customer orders rolling out the door. You’ll spend your day operating equipment, loading trucks, moving materials, building orders, and working alongside a team that gets the job done.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• •Drive it. Move it. Load it. Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to keep materials moving.
• •Load and unload materials from all kinds of trucks.
• •Pick, organize, move, and re-palletize materials so orders are ready to roll.
• •Read loading and picking tickets and make sure every load is accurate and secure.
• •Work with Supervisors, Customer Service, and Sales to make sure customers get what they ordered, when they ordered it.
• •Operate various types of heavy equipment and machinery when needed.
• •Complete daily equipment inspections and speak up when something isn’t right.
• •Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
• •Follow YBP safety rules and regulations — every load, every shift, every time.
• •Pitch in wherever needed. Teamwork makes the yard work!

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT?

• •Forklift experience is required.
• •Comfortable around heavy equipment and machinery.
• •You can read and follow detailed loading and picking instructions.
• •You take safety seriously and know how to work smart, not just hard.
• •Dependable, hardworking, and ready to stay busy.
• •Comfortable working extended hours when needed.
• •You’re a team player who can also get the job done without constant supervision.

WHAT’S IT LIKE?

It’s not a desk job — and that’s the point!

You’ll work both indoors and outdoors, moving materials and loading trucks in sunshine, rain, wind, heat, cold, and everything in between.

You’ll climb in and out of equipment, stay active, lift, bend, stoop, and keep things moving throughout the day.

If you like being on the move and seeing what you accomplished at the end of your shift, you’ll fit right in.

THE PHYSICAL STUFF

• •Climb in and out of equipment repeatedly.
• •Walk, sit, bend, stoop, and move around equipment and materials.
• •Lift and move materials weighing up to 90 pounds .
• •Work safely around forklifts, trucks, heavy equipment, and moving materials.
• •Be ready for a physical, hands-on workday.
