About the Company
Dirac is building the creative suite for manufacturing engineering. Manufacturing engineering has been underserved by fractured tooling. The work of defining how a product gets built is spread across process plans, MBOMs, routings, work instructions, spreadsheets, PLM configurations, ERP tables, and internal tools. Each artifact represents only part of the process, forcing engineers to rebuild context whenever a design changes.
BuildOS brings these workflows together in one environment. Manufacturing engineers author, version, review, and distribute the Build—the canonical definition of how a product is produced.
Role Overview
As a Forward Deployed Manufacturing Engineer, you will work directly with manufacturing teams to translate real-world build processes into structured, scalable workflows within BuildOS. You will act as a digital manufacturing engineer, helping customers move from legacy processes to a model-based, software-driven system. You will be deeply embedded during pilots and early deployments, ensuring customers not only understand the product—but successfully adopt it.
Responsibilities
- ● Translate customer assembly processes into BuildOS workflows
- ● Create and structure work instructions from CAD and engineering data
- ● Lead onboarding and drive adoption during pilots and early deployments
- ● Act as a trusted advisor to manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams
- ● Identify inefficiencies in customer workflows and propose improvements
- ● Partner with product and engineering to surface high-impact feedback
- ● Support demos, technical evaluations, and customer check-ins
Qualifications
- ● Background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
- ● Experience working in or closely with manufacturing environments
- ● Strong intuition for how things are built in the real world
- ● Ability to break down and structure complex assembly workflows
- ● Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- ● High ownership and comfort working directly with customers
Technical Background
- ● Experience with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.)
- ● Familiarity with PLM / ERP systems and manufacturing workflows
- ● Understanding of EBOM / MBOM concepts and production processes
- ● Experience creating or managing work instructions
New York Pay Range
$100,000 — $140,000 USD
