About the Role

The FP&A Manager, Delivery & Product Finance is the finance business partner to the Delivery and Product organisations.

This role supports Delivery and Product with cost/investment analysis, margin and ROI modelling, resource and capacity planning.

The role translates operational and product performance into financial outcomes, and provides the analytical backbone for services margin improvement and product investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Business Partnering & Services Margin

Act as lead finance partner to Delivery/Operations leadership.

Analyse drivers of services margin: utilisation, delivery mix, billable rates, cost recovery.

Support project and customer profitability reviews; flag scope/overrun risk early.

Resource & Capacity Planning

Partner with Delivery leadership on headcount, capacity and contractor-usage planning.

Identify resource constraints and productivity opportunities; feed into annual planning.

Product Finance & Investment Cases

Act as finance partner to Head of Product/CTO on product investment planning and roadmap economics.

Build business cases for new features, build-vs-buy decisions, and AI/platform investment.

Maintain product profitability and KPI reporting (revenue/margin by product).

Forecasting & Performance Reporting

Own services revenue/cost forecasts and product investment forecasts, feeding the consolidated plan.

Produce monthly margin, utilisation and product KPI packs with variance commentary.

Partner with the FP&A Analyst to ensure data quality in the underlying reporting pack.

Key Activities

Weekly: Delivery leadership meetings; utilisation tracking; product initiative reviews

Monthly: Margin/KPI reporting; forecast updates; business reviews

Quarterly: Capacity planning; product portfolio & investment reviews

Annually: Budget input for Delivery and Product; long-range planning support

Success Measures

Services gross margin achievement and improvement vs. prior year.

Forecast accuracy for services and product-related revenue/cost lines.

Quality and influence of product investment recommendations.

Positive feedback from Delivery and Product leadership on business partnering.

Skills & Experience

Experience

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent, 4+ years PQE.

Experience in FP&A, commercial finance or business partnering within a SaaS/software business.

Exposure to services/delivery economics and/or product investment analysis preferred.

PE-backed company experience an advantage.

Skills

Strong financial modelling and analytical capability.

Comfortable moving between two stakeholder groups (Delivery and Product) and reprioritising.

Clear, confident communicator able to challenge senior operational leaders.

Personal Attributes

Commercially curious; comfortable with ambiguity across two domains.

Self-starter — this role will need to build its own reporting cadence from a lower base than a single-focus specialist role.

First 12-Month Objectives

Establish a single, reliable services-margin reporting framework for Delivery.

Build a repeatable product investment business-case template and apply it to at least two decisions.

Deliver at least one services margin improvement initiative with tracked financial benefit.
