As a Franchise Development Advisor, you will be the driving force that turns signed ARCO and ampm deals into open, trading sites – faster. Your primary focus is to expedite and advance new-to-industry (NTI), Dealer Conversion Agreement (DCA) and other new site openings across the West Coast network, accelerating time to value for our franchisees, dealers and bp.

You will own the path from contract signature to grand opening: aligning operations, fuels, branding, systems and vendor partners so every step has a clear owner and a next action. As a secondary part of the role, you will support the broader franchise develo

pment team on contract renewals and the new site pipeline. Your work directly supports bp’s convenience and mobility growth strategy by bringing new ARCO and ampm sites to market on time and ready to perform.

What you will deliver

Site openings and activation (primary focus)

Expedite and advance new, DCA and NTI site openings, accelerating time to value from contract signing to first transaction.

Guide dealers and franchisees through the key pillars of a site opening, providing a clear roadmap and single point of coordination.

Ensure critical activation activities are completed on time, including Hughes network account setup, ASM contract, and S2K setup where applicable.

Maintain accurate, realistic opening forecasts that offer an objective view alongside dealer timelines.

Track progression of all branding elements and ensure every branding step has a defined next step and clear owner.

Build strong relationships with sign installers and other vendors for status updates, escalation and timely remediation of issues.

Pre-check new sites for systems compatibility (registers, dispensers, tank monitoring) and flag anything out of the ordinary to the right teams.

Cross-functional partnership

Partner with the Operations team (RSMs and FBAs) to secure their buy-in and excitement for new site openings and a smooth handoff to the field.

Share site progress with the fuels logistics team to ensure supply and operational readiness ahead of opening.

Partner with the Operations Excellence team to further integrate Salesforce into the West of the Rockies (WOR) opening process.

Advocate for WOR needs when new tools, processes and marketing programs are introduced.

Process improvement

Identify and implement process improvements that simplify the opening experience and reduce repeat questions from dealers and franchisees.

Create clear, accessible go-to resources for dealers on key opening requirements.

Leverage processes and systems developed for the East of the Rockies (EOR) rollout, identifying “lift and shift” solutions for the West Coast.

Renewals and new site pipeline (secondary focus)

Support the Franchise Development Advisors on contract renewals and prospective franchisee and dealer opportunities.

Assist with pipeline management from first contact through contract signing and site opening.

Support development of economic opportunity models and the approvals process with Finance, Pricing, Network Planning and leadership.

Support DCA and renewal negotiations using value selling and ROI-based offers.

Partner with RSMs and FBAs to onboard new franchisees and represent the ARCO and ampm brands at trade shows and industry events as needed.

What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience

3+ years of experience in franchise operations, development, retail or fuel site development, multi-site operations, or project management – ideally within convenience retail, fuel, or QSR.

Proven track record of coordinating multi-stakeholder projects with vendors, contractors and internal teams to deliver on time.

Familiarity with retail fuel site systems (POS, dispensers, tank monitoring, payment networks) is a strong plus.

Skills and competencies

Strong project management and organizational skills with the rigor to keep many site openings moving at once.

Proactive problem solver who calls out early, drives remediation and follows through with little oversight.

Ability to influence and build relationships with franchisees, dealers, operations teams and vendors.

Clear, confident communicator who can give a realistic view of timelines and risks.

Continuous improvement attitude and comfort working with systems such as Salesforce.

Commercial awareness and willingness to learn franchise sales, renewals and deal economics.

Living the safety leadership principles and exemplifying bp’s values and behaviors.

Travel: Regular travel within the West Coast network to sites, franchisees and vendor partners.
