The Fraud Operations Specialist is responsible for identifying, investigating, preventing and mitigating fraudulent activity across customer accounts and financial transactions. This role analyzes transaction activity and fraud alerts, conducts investigations, documents findings, and works with internal teams to protect customers and minimize financial losses. This position supports the prevention and recovery of fraud related losses and ensures that time sensitive responsibilities are completed accurately and in accordance with bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do
Fraud Prevention, Investigation, and Monitoring
- Timely monitor, address, and report all fraud including but not limited to fraudulent checks, ACH, ATM & POS Disputes
- Timely conduct investigations of fraudulent activity to ensure minimal loss/inconvenience to the Bank and/or customers
- Assist the Fraud Prevention Manager with educating employees to identify and respond to potential fraud
- Accurately complete forms as needed, including but not limited to Breach of Warranty and Uniform and Indemnified Agreements
- Perform Regulation E processes including but not limited to: process and maintain Fraud Disputes, review Cams Alerts, review Issuer Adjustment Reports/Process balance tickets when needed, review Financial Institution Exceptions Report, work Directly with Transfund Chargeback Department
- Monitor, review, and process daily Verafin alerts
- Review Large Items reports daily for suspicious activity
Compliance & Regulatory Excellence
- Maintain compliance with all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures
- Stay current on fraud trends, security practices, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and Bank information
- Serve as a liaison with law enforcement agencies when directed
- Ensure all investigations, disputes, and reporting activities are completed accurately and timely
Teamwork & Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional service while assisting customers with fraud-related concerns
- Collaborate with teammates and business partners to resolve fraud cases effectively
- Support the Bank's Core Values, Mission, and Vision through daily service and interactions
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of banking or related financial services experience
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, qualifying motor vehicle record, and reliable transportation
- Knowledge of banking operations, practices, and principles
- Understanding of fraud prevention, fraud detection, and dispute resolution processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexible, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous fraud operations, fraud investigation, dispute processing, or loss prevention experience
- Experience with Verafin, CAMS alerts, chargeback processing, or fraud monitoring systems
- Working knowledge of Regulation E and fraud-related banking regulations
