Our Industrial Designers reimagine physical products, touchpoints, and experiences by defining value propositions, product architectures, workflows, design languages, and technologies that help clients differentiate, enter new markets, and communicate their value. They collaborate across strategy, research, engineering, and design to shape convergent experiences spanning physical, digital, service, and brand components.

Your Role

As a Senior Consultant, Industrial Designer , you will own industrial design workstreams from discovery through development, creating meaningful physical products and experiences that address user needs and deliver business value. You will plan and deliver industrial design activities within interdisciplinary engagements, advise clients within your area of expertise, and translate research and strategy into compelling product propositions, architectures, experiences, and design systems. You will also mentor junior designers, contribute to proposals and pitches, and apply AI-enabled tools and emerging methods to accelerate insight, exploration, visualization, and design refinement. This is an on-site position in San Francisco.

Key responsibilities include:

• •Define differentiated product value propositions, experience principles, product architectures, and design directions by combining user insight, business objectives, design research, and AI-augmented analysis.
• •Own industrial design workstreams, including planning and conducting research, facilitating workshops and design sprints, developing user journeys, and guiding clients toward clear decisions on vision, strategy, and execution.
• •Conceptualize and communicate physical product experiences through sketching, three-dimensional CAD, renderings, mock-ups, storytelling, and AI-enabled visualization workflows that increase the speed and breadth of design exploration.
• •Develop, prototype, test, and refine product concepts with consideration for usability, ergonomics, human factors, sustainable materials, manufacturing methods, assembly, color, materials, and finishes.
• •Collaborate across strategy, research, digital design, data, engineering, suppliers, and client teams while mentoring junior colleagues and advancing responsible, AI-augmented industrial design practices.

Qualifications & Experience

You bring strong AI literacy, including core AI and generative AI concepts, and understand how these capabilities apply to enterprise transformation. You are able to identify and support AI-enabled opportunities that improve business outcomes and delivery effectiveness, and you have experience working in AI-augmented ways of working to enhance research, analysis, and solution development. You collaborate effectively across strategy, technology, data, and design to enable AI-driven solutions, with a solid understanding of responsible AI principles such as ethics, privacy, security, and governance. You demonstrate curiosity and a continuous learning mindset around emerging AI capabilities and their practical application in client environments.

Required Experience:

• •Five or more years of professional industrial design experience, supported by a portfolio of recent work that demonstrates highly developed design skills and relevant project contributions.
• •Demonstrated ability to own industrial design workstreams and collaborate in multifunctional teams, including experience presenting recommendations, advising clients, and contributing to high-quality delivery outcomes.
• •Proficiency in contemporary industrial design tools and methods, including hand sketching, three-dimensional CAD, visualization, renderings, mock-ups, physical and virtual prototyping, design research, user testing, and iterative development.
• •Familiarity with AI and generative AI applications that support research, analysis, ideation, visualization, workflow improvement, and solution development, together with an understanding of responsible AI principles.
• •Confident presentation and storytelling abilities, business-level English, and the ability to mentor junior designers; a degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related design or engineering discipline is beneficial. A portfolio link or PDF is required with the application.

For this role, the gross annual starting base salary is $110,000 to $160,000 (full-time). This covers base pay only; any bonuses, incentives, and benefits will be discussed later in the recruitment process. Candidates with additional experience or qualifications may receive a higher offer, determined by objective, gender-neutral criteria and consistent with our pay principles. If a collective labour agreement applies, we will explain the relevant pay terms at the interview stage. Note: We never ask for your current or previous salary during our hiring process.
