Front-End Software Engineer – Workspace Designer

At Cisco Devices’ innovation center in Lysaker, just outside Oslo, more than 300 engineers work across hardware, software, mechanics, audio, media processing, and artificial intelligence. Together, we turn ideas into products and create video conferencing experiences used around the world.

Admin Solutions builds the experiences that help enterprise IT teams get the most from their devices. Our work connects product groups across the site, and our teams collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management, Design, and customers.

We’re looking for a front-end engineer to join the team working on Workspace Designer , an award winning web-based 3D tool that helps customers plan their workplaces and find video devices suited to their meeting rooms. You’ll help make the tool more useful as Cisco introduces new products and features.

Your Impact

You’ll build and improve the experiences that help customers plan effective workplaces. Working closely with other functions and customers, you’ll own features end to end, from understanding a need to delivering the finished experience. The work combines front-end product development with the technical challenges of a 3D web application that connects to the broader product ecosystem.

You will:

• •Bring creative ideas to life by building experiences that make workplace planning more intuitive and useful for customers
• •Extend Workspace Designer to support new Cisco products and capabilities
• •Solve performance challenges to keep the 3D experience smooth and responsive
• •Integrate Workspace Designer with Cisco cloud services and related products
• •Partner closely with UX, Product Management, engineering teams, and customers to take features from idea to release

Minimum Qualifications

• •A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• •1+ year of professional software development experience with front-end web applications
• •Experience with a modern JavaScript framework and TypeScript

Preferred Qualifications

• •Experience building interactive or graphics-intensive web applications
• •Experience with frameworks for building 3D on the web (Three.js or other platforms)
• •Familiarity with web application performance, APIs, or cloud service integrations
• •Interest in building products that solve customer problems and improve the user experience
