Position Summary

The Test Programmer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical test programs used to verify printed circuit boards meet customer and manufacturing requirements. This position will primarily use GCA test software and automated test equipment to create and maintain test programs from customer PCB data, CAD files, netlists, schematics, and other manufacturing documentation.

The Test Programmer works closely with Engineering, CAM, Production Control, Quality, and Test Technicians to ensure test programs are accurate, reliable, and available when required for production.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain electrical test programs using GCA software
  • Create test programs from customer-supplied CAD data, netlists, Gerber files, schematics, and other technical documentation.
  • Review PCB designs and manufacturing data to identify potential electrical test issues before production.
  • Generate and verify test data, including nets, components, test points, and electrical characteristics.
  • Set up and modify test parameters to provide reliable testing while minimizing false failures.
  • Debug and troubleshoot test-program problems and determine whether failures are caused by the PCB, test program, fixture, equipment, or other factors.
  • Perform program verification and validation before releasing test programs to production.
  • Maintain existing test programs when customers make engineering changes or when PCB revisions are released.
  • Support prototype, quick-turn, repeat, and production jobs as required.
  • Work with CAM and Engineering personnel to resolve discrepancies between customer data and manufacturing requirements.
  • Assist Test Technicians with troubleshooting difficult or unusual test failures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to interpret PCB CAD data, netlists, schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies between customer data and manufactured PCB requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience programming GCA automated test equipment.
  • Experience in a PCB fabrication or printed circuit board manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of PCB CAM systems and manufacturing data.
  • Experience troubleshooting fixtures, test equipment, and electrical test failures.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards and PCB manufacturing terminology.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, or programming is a plus.
  • Experience working with Genesis or other PCB CAM systems is a plus.

  • Identify and implement improvements that increase test-programming efficiency.
  • Work proactively with other departments to resolve issues before they affect production.

Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$49,928 - $78,919

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
