Frontend Engineer, Amazon Advertising - Brand Innovation Lab

• Amazon Ads is looking for a Front-End Engineer to join the Brand Innovation Lab (BIL), a multidisciplinary team that creates innovative advertising experiences for some of the world’s most recognized brands.
• In this role, you will turn proven advertising experiences into scalable, reliable, and production-ready solutions. You will evolve campaign-specific implementations into reusable components, templates, and frameworks that can support multiple advertisers, campaigns, and markets.
• You will deliver front-end features across the software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, maintenance, and operational support. A key focus of the role is improving the quality and reliability of existing solutions by simplifying implementations, resolving recurring defects at their root cause, reducing technical debt, and making software easier for other teams to operate and extend.
• You will work closely with Design Technologists, UX Designers, Creative teams, Product and Program Managers, and partner engineering teams across Amazon Ads.
• Our primary front-end stack includes React and TypeScript.

• Key job responsibilities
• •Transform proven Brand Innovation Lab advertising experiences into scalable, reusable, production-ready solutions, including components, templates, and shared frameworks.
• •Design and deliver front-end features using React and TypeScript across the full software development lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and maintenance.
• •Improve software quality, reliability, performance, accessibility, and security by identifying root causes of defects, implementing durable fixes, reducing technical debt, and applying engineering best practices.
• •Partner with Design Technologists, UX, Product, and engineering teams to translate innovative customer experiences into technically scalable implementations and integrate them with APIs, shared services, and Amazon Ads platforms.
• •Improve development and operational processes through automation, testing, code reviews, technical documentation, and maintainable engineering patterns that enable other teams to operate and extend the software.
• •This role requires On call duties in rotation with other FEEs/Design Technologists.

Basic qualifications

• - Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
• - Experience in professional front end development
• - Experience across the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, debugging, and maintenance.
• - Experience writing maintainable, tested production code and diagnosing software defects to identify root causes.
• - Knowledge of front-end performance, accessibility, browser compatibility, and web security practices.
• - Experience with source control, code review, and modern software development workflows.
• - Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, design, product, or other technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• - Experience building web applications with React and modern web technologies
• - Experience working in a cloud based development and production environment such as AWS
• - Experience with automation, testing, or monitoring framework development
• - Experience building or maintaining design systems, component libraries, reusable front-end frameworks, or template-based systems.
• - Experience evolving prototypes, campaign-specific implementations, or proof-of-concept software into maintainable production systems.
• - Experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and operational tooling.
• - Knowledge of web performance optimization, accessibility standards, internationalization, and front-end security.
• - Experience integrating front-end applications with APIs and backend services.
• - Experience working on advertising technology, interactive experiences, media, e-commerce, or other customer-facing digital products.
