About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Corporate & Investment Banking Technology team, helping deliver innovative software solutions that support critical business capabilities across a global organization. In this role, you will work across front-end development, back-end services, intelligent automation, and AI-driven engineering to build scalable applications that enhance software delivery, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate innovation within the business.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern technologies including cloud platforms, microservices, automation frameworks, and Generative AI tools to shape the future of engineering. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality solutions, advance intelligent testing and automation capabilities, and contribute to technology initiatives that help drive business growth, operational excellence, and an improved client experience across Corporate & Investment Banking.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Java experience
  • 2+ years of Spring Boot experience
  • 2+ years of experience designing and building REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations.
  • 2+ years of either React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5 or CSS3 experience
  • 2+ years of Cloud experience such as Azure, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience developing or integrating AI-powered applications, intelligent automation solutions, or agentic workflows.
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications and contributing to cloud-native transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and quality engineering principles that support reliable software delivery.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and Generative AI technologies such as GitHub Copilot, Devin, Claude and prompt engineering to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
  • Experience contributing to Agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, or similar delivery methodologies.
