the posting

Freudigman & Billings is looking to add a full-time STEM instructor to our team. In particular, we are seeking someone with a significant track record of helping students prepare for AP level coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in learning to teach the ACT and SAT.

This is not a remote position. All work is performed at our center in Westport, CT.

What We Do

Our instructors help students build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a deeper understanding of math and science subjects, providing thoughtful, rigorous support in a way that’s both engaging and effective. The work is deeply rewarding and offers opportunities to make lasting academic and personal impact.

Who You Are

You have a B.A./B.S. in Mathematics, Science, or a related field. You may have some teaching or tutoring experience, or you're eager to learn. What matters most is your intellectual curiosity, your ability to connect with students, and your drive to grow. We’ll train you in our instructional methods, but you’ll bring your unique spark. Maybe it’s your knack for breaking down tricky math problems, or your ability to make a stressed-out teen crack a smile. Either way, we’re looking for someone who can build real relationships and make learning feel possible. Maybe even enjoyable. There’s also an opportunity to join our rotational training program, where you’ll gain exposure to other disciplines like Educational Therapy and Standardized Test Prep in order to broaden your skills and career potential.

Why Join Freudigman & Billings?

An Established Educational System & Meaningful Teamwork: We care about our staff and helping you grow as an instructor. You will have access to the systems, resources, and collaborative support needed to focus on delivering high-quality instruction. We work closely together on a daily basis to create and execute individualized learning plans. Our team works within a shared educational philosophy, and we are proud of the collegiality that our center inspires as well as the team of educators we have attracted as a result.

Administrative support: We have a full time team that handles scheduling and billing. This infrastructure allows instructors to devote more of their time and energy to their students and instructional responsibilities.

Predictable hours at a single office location : Almost all of our work with students takes place at our 11,000 square foot headquarters in Westport, CT. Students are encouraged to utilize our space not only to see their instructors, but to do homework, hang out with friends, have a snack, get some advice, or even catch a quick nap during finals week. Instructors are provided with a private classroom, a whiteboard, and all materials necessary for a productive session. No unpaid time as you drive from house to house!

A Career Beyond the Instructional Hour: We recognize that experienced educators often bring expertise that extends beyond classroom instruction. The specific nature of these responsibilities will depend on your skills, interests, and the needs of the department.

Great guaranteed pay: $67,000-$75,000 salary based on experience, with paid sick time, vacation time, and holidays.

Great benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, short and long term disability insurance, paid parental leave, and a 401k plan.

Schedule

The current instructional schedule requires availability during afternoon and evening hours. The anticipated schedule is 12:30pm to 9pm, Monday through Thursday, and 11am to 7:30pm on Sundays. Instructors with interest in working on Fridays and Saturdays will also be considered. Scheduling arrangements may be customized on a case-by-case basis based on departmental needs, student demands, and the scope of the instructor’s responsibilities.
