Full-Time Venture Capital Vice President

ABOUT THE VICE-PRESIDENT ROLE

A G2 Vice-President is involved in every step of our processes and will:

Conduct industry deep-dives to map new sub-sectors and identify areas of potential value

Develop and own thematic investment theses aligned with G2’s focus areas

Source and evaluate deals by building a pipeline of promising opportunities

Lead diligence workstreams, including market analysis, competitive benchmarking, financial modeling, and technology assessments

Drive investment memos and presentations, preparing and defending recommendations during Investment Committee discussions

Support portfolio companies post-investment through strategic projects and operational support, often as active Board Observers

Build and leverage a strong network of founders, investors, and industry experts to enhance sourcing and diligence efforts

Represent G2 externally at conferences, demo days, and other industry events

HOW A VICE-PRESIDENT WILL WIN AT G2

A successful G2 Vice-President will:

Exhibit sharp investment judgment, with the ability to independently form and defend a point of view on markets, technologies, and companies

Be relentlessly curious and enjoy going deep on complex industries, business models, and emerging technologies

Be an effective deal athlete - able to lead analyses, anticipate risks, and drive processes forward with limited oversight

Be a clear and compelling communicator, synthesizing complex information into concise investment theses for internal and external audiences

Be self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful — take ownership of workstreams, find answers without being told where to look, and move projects to completion

Demonstrate a “whatever it takes” mentality, including the willingness to work through ambiguity and tackle unglamorous tasks to get to the right answer

Show genuine passion for sustainability-focused technology businesses and alignment with G2’s mission

Be self-motivated and take initiative in seeking ways to contribute; tackle challenges and improve processes without being asked

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for candidates who have:

At least four years of work experience requiring critical analysis of business models and financial projections. Investing, banking, or consulting experience preferred

Established record as a curious “self-starter”

Strong organizational skills, excellent analytical reasoning, and an ability to present complex ideas and information in simple, persuasive form, both written and oral

Genuine passion for investing, the entrepreneurial process, and sustainability

Desire to be a connector / develop a robust network, and work in a collaborative, trust-based team environment

Professional and personal maturity that demonstrates unquestionable integrity and sound business instincts

START DATE

Full-time starting late Summer 2027.

LOCATION

Our office is in Portola Valley, California. Most of the team works in the office 3-4 days a week. We expect Vice-Presidents to be based in the Bay Area - this is not a remote role.
