Teaching Lab welcomes experienced instructional facilitators and coaches to submit their resumes for future contracting opportunities. The Facilitator/Coach is an individual-contributor contractor role focused on delivering high-quality professional learning and instructional coaching to educators and school leaders. Because this is a contracting pool and volume is often high, we are unable to respond to every submission, but we carefully review all resumes we receive.

Facilitator/Coaches play a critical role in supporting educators through virtual and in-person professional learning, 1:1 and group coaching, and the implementation of high-quality instructional materials and research-based practices. Responsibilities may include designing and facilitating professional development, engaging in coaching feedback cycles, building collaborative relationships with educators and leaders, and supporting data collection and reflection activities that strengthen instructional practice and improve student outcomes. Please note that in-person work is required for this role, and when travel is necessary, contractors manage logistics with the support of Teaching Lab's travel policies.

These roles are project-based and flexible, with opportunities communicated several weeks in advance so you can align them with your schedule. Once assigned, you will collaborate with our project teams to prepare, practice, and tailor content to the needs of our partners. After each engagement, coaches and facilitators participate in reflective debriefs that strengthen both individual practice and collective impact. In addition to school-based coaching and facilitation, opportunities may also be available for instructional teacher coaching and executive leadership coaching depending on project needs and candidate background. Please note that hours are not guaranteed, as the volume and timing of work depend on active projects and your availability. Contractor roles are not eligible for benefits, retirement, or leave.

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of the following education, experience, values, and skills:

At least two years of experience as an instructional coach to teachers or school leaders, with evidence of impact on student learning outcomes

Experience supporting various levels of instruction across classroom settings, including diverse learner populations

Strong background in instructional best practices, with the ability to apply strategies that support effective teaching and learning for a wide range of educators and students

Experience designing professional development materials or serving in an instructional design capacity

Experience facilitating impactful professional learning and coaching for educators in both virtual and in-person settings

Experience building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders in an education context

A track record of empowering teachers through trusting relationships and supporting meaningful shifts in practice and mindset to improve student outcomes

If you are interested in being considered for upcoming opportunities, please complete the application questions linked below. Providing your resume, relevant experience, and areas of expertise helps our team review your submission thoroughly and reach out if your profile aligns with future project needs.
