Are you looking for a 100% first shift opportunity in the Saint Cloud area? How does a Monday through Friday schedule with minimal Saturdays, sound to you? Bay Insulation of Minnesota is actively looking for a General Laborer who will play a vital role in supporting the efficient flow of production within the metal building insulation operation.

This position is responsible for safely preparing and loading fiberglass insulation and facing materials into laminators, as well as starting, wrapping, identifying, and unloading finished laminated products. The General Laborer also packages unfaced materials for shipment, assists with truck loading and unloading, and supports Machine Operators and Material Handlers to ensure continuous laminator and band saw operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling & Flow Support
  • Load, unload, and transport raw materials (fiberglass insulation and facing) and finished laminated rolls to maintain continuous laminator production.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Prepare and package shipments according to customer and carrier requirements.
  • Stay informed on current production schedules to ensure fiberglass insulation is staged and ready to laminate and facing materials are available for changeovers.
  • Accuracy & Documentation
  • Verify materials are delivered to and from production areas in the correct order, quantity, and specification to prevent production interruptions.
  • Perform quality checks against job requirements to ensure finished goods meet customer specifications.
  • Accurately label and store finished goods and raw materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through physical counts and waste reporting
  • Safety & Equipment Operation
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Complete and document daily forklift safety inspections; report and assist in maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure fiberglass insulation stacks are aligned and stacked straight to maintain stability and prevent tipping hazards.
  • Secure all loads safely before transport and follow designated traffic and storage patterns within the facility.
  • Safely operate balers, trash compactors, band saws, and power tools.
  • Assist Machine Operators in the safe and efficient operation of laminators.
  • Housekeeping & Support
  • Keep work areas, aisles, and storage zones clean, organized, and free from debris, empty pallets, or packaging waste.
  • Support production and shipping personnel to ensure on-time order fulfillment and efficient workflow.
  • Handle any hazardous or special materials under supervision and in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling operations preferred.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Familiarity with fiberglass insulation, facing materials, or metal building insulation manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely perform duties in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, organization, and productivity.
