Generative AI Engineering Lead - Senior Vice President

The Generative AI Engineering Manager leads the delivery of generative and agentic AI solutions that power Citi's technology platforms. This senior role owns the full delivery lifecycle for AI initiatives, from roadmap execution through production deployment, while building and leading a team of AI engineers. Sitting within Citi's technology organization, the role shapes how AI capabilities are built, scaled, and governed across the business.

Responsibilities

• •Lead the delivery roadmap for generative and agentic AI projects, owning the full lifecycle from scoping through deployment and post-launch support.
• •Build, mentor, and manage multiple teams of AI engineers, overseeing hiring, performance, and budget planning to meet delivery goals.
• •Oversee the design, development, and deployment of production-ready generative AI applications that meet rigorous performance, security, and quality standards.
• •Direct the design of agentic workflows and multi-agent systems, setting standards for agent orchestration and reliable long-running execution.
• •Serve as the primary point of contact for generative AI delivery, managing stakeholder expectations and resolving delivery risks.
• •Partner with data, cloud architecture, and machine learning operations teams to integrate generative AI solutions across Citi's technology environment.
• •Champion best practices in CI/CD, LLMOps, and agile delivery to drive efficient, repeatable outcomes.
• •Establish governance and responsible AI frameworks, including safeguards and sandboxing, to ensure ethical and compliant deployment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• •More than 10 years of experience in applications development, delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions.
• •Experience managing global technology teams across multiple locations and time zones.
• •Working knowledge of industry practices and standards in generative AI and software delivery.
• •Proficiency in Python, applied to build, review, and guide the delivery of generative AI and agentic solutions.
• •Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• •Ability to negotiate and influence senior leaders and external parties on technology strategy and delivery decisions.
• •Strong risk management capability, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate policy requirements across AI delivery.
• •Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

• $156,160.00 - $234,240.00
