GIS Developer

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise GIS development, ArcGIS Enterprise, GIS web applications, system integration, and geospatial solutions, with a proven track record in government, infrastructure, utilities, industrial cities, or smart-city environments. This role will involve working closely with clients and stakeholders to design, develop, integrate, and optimize enterprise GIS solutions while providing technical leadership and supporting successful GIS implementation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Enterprise GIS Development

• •Develop and enhance enterprise GIS web applications, portals, dashboards, and executive applications.
• •Develop GIS solutions using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS Experience Builder, and ArcGIS Dashboards.
• •Develop GIS automation, scripts, and geoprocessing solutions using Python and ArcPy.

2. GIS Integration & Architecture

• •Integrate GIS platforms with enterprise business systems using REST APIs, web services, databases, and integration technologies.
• •Design GIS solution, application, integration, and data-flow architectures.
• •Support integration between ArcGIS Enterprise and enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 / CRM.

3. ArcGIS Enterprise & GIS Services

• •Configure, publish, secure, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise geospatial services.
• •Support and manage ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, and Enterprise Geodatabases.
• •Manage GIS users, roles, permissions, services, and configurations.
• •Support GIS environment performance, availability, security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery requirements.

4. Technical Delivery & Stakeholder Management

• •Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable GIS solutions.
• •Prepare technical requirements, specifications, solution designs, and technical documentation.
• •Conduct technical Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and provide technical recommendations.
• •Coordinate with IT Infrastructure, Applications, Data, Cybersecurity, and other technical teams.
• •Technically coordinate and manage GIS implementation vendors and teams.

5. Client-Facing Consulting & Technical Support

• •Work closely with client stakeholders to understand requirements and provide appropriate GIS solutions.
• •Troubleshoot complex GIS application, integration, service, and infrastructure issues.
• •Provide technical guidance and support to GIS developers and project teams.
• •Ensure successful delivery of GIS solutions while maintaining high standards of quality, performance, and security.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education

• •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, GIS, Geomatics, Engineering, or a related field.
• •Relevant postgraduate education or specialized GIS training is an advantage.

Professional Experience

• •7+ years of experience in GIS development and enterprise GIS environments.
• •Strong experience in enterprise GIS web development and ArcGIS-based solutions.
• •Experience working with government, utilities, infrastructure, industrial cities, or smart-city projects.
• •Experience designing and implementing GIS applications, integrations, services, and enterprise GIS solutions.
• •Experience working with clients and multidisciplinary technical teams.
• •Experience technically coordinating GIS implementation vendors and teams is preferred.

Technical Skills

• •Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, and Enterprise Geodatabases.
• •Strong experience with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and ArcGIS REST API.
• •Proficiency in Python / ArcPy for GIS automation and geoprocessing.
• •Strong SQL skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and/or PostgreSQL.
• •Experience with ArcGIS Experience Builder and ArcGIS Dashboards.
• •Experience in GIS integration with REST APIs, web services, databases, and enterprise applications.
• •Knowledge of GIS solution, application, integration, and data-flow architecture.
• •Experience with GIS service publishing, security, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• •Knowledge of enterprise authentication and security concepts, including SSO, Active Directory, and SSL certificates.
• •Knowledge of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, backup/recovery, RPO/RTO, and Business Continuity is preferred.
• •Experience with ArcGIS Monitor or similar enterprise monitoring technologies is an advantage.
