PacAero’s core businesses include an array of electronic connectors and housings for the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface.
The Position:
Job Summary
Working under general supervision, Glass Seal Technician I is responsible for hermetically sealing electronic contacts and feedthroughs with high temperature glass to customer specifications. This role also involves performing measurements and visual inspections to ensure product quality and adhering to safety and production standards.
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 2:30pm-11pm. This is a swing shift and includes a $2/hour shift differential on top of the base wage.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with all employees.

- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to your lead or supervisor.
- Must be able to retain information and show continued progression of growth towards Level II.
Glass Seal Technician I Responsibilities
- The ability to find and interpret Engineering Drawings to correctly determine requirements.
- Develop strong understanding of the quality requirements of individual components and the finished product.
- Develop strong understanding of the Workmanship Quality Standards of the glass seals per WQS-200.
- Learn to use the correct tools, equipment, Shop Processes (SP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as required.
- In-process visual inspections of components and assemblies under a microscope to confirm compliance with quality standards.
- Perform assembly processes as required to prep, load, and seal RF connectors.
- Develop strong understanding of the Oxide, De-oxide, and De-carb processes relative to successful glass-to-metal sealing.
- Able to detect failure of tooling and equipment.
- The ability to complete tasks in a reasonably timely manner.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience preferred but not required.
Work Environment
- Safety hazards: Can be exposed to inherent risks from high-temperature ovens/parts, extreme low-temperature freezers, and sharp tools. Safety protocols are critical to prevent injuries.
- Contaminants: The work involves exposure to airborne particles like metal and chemical fumes, necessitating adequate ventilation and protective measures to minimize health risks when on the shop floor.
- Protective gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a requirement for safety. This includes safety glasses and nitrile gloves as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing/Sitting: Long hours in a chair or on their feet.
- Manual dexterity: Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary for manipulating tools and performing precise measurements.
- Repetitive motion: Many tasks, such loading, and inspecting parts, are repetitive and can potentially lead to musculoskeletal issues over time.
- Precision and vision: Must have excellent close-up vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colors to accurately read blueprints,
