About the Role

Neo4j is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Tax and Treasury to manage the tax and treasury function for a global, high-growth enterprise software company. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role with end-to-end responsibility for global tax compliance and planning, cash and liquidity management, banking and the processes and controls needed to support Neo4j's continued international growth.

The role will partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and external advisors across Neo4j's global operations. The successful candidate will combine strong technical judgment with an operator's mindset: comfortable setting strategy, working through complex cross-border matters, and executing the underlying work in a lean environment.

What You'll Do

Tax

Own Neo4j's global tax compliance calendar, including U.S. federal, state, and local income and franchise taxes; international corporate income taxes; sales and use taxes; and VAT/GST across the jurisdictions in which Neo4j operates

Manage global tax advisors and coordinate the preparation and review of income tax returns, estimated payments, extensions, tax audits, and other tax authority inquiries

Lead the income tax provision process under ASC 740, including deferred taxes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, tax account reconciliations, and support for the annual financial statement audit

Own transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and contemporaneous documentation for cross-border services, software and intellectual property arrangements, and intercompany funding

Manage indirect tax compliance and strategy for Neo4j's software subscriptions, cloud offerings, professional services, marketplace transactions, and channel sales, including nexus analyses, registrations, exemption documentation, and product taxability

Evaluate the tax implications of new products and commercial models, international expansion, legal entity changes, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration

Monitor international tax developments relevant to Neo4j, including OECD requirements as applicable, withholding and permanent establishment exposure, and evolving SaaS taxability rules

Establish scalable, audit-ready tax processes, documentation, and internal controls, and identify opportunities to improve data quality and reduce reliance on manual processes

Oversee the global tax compliance requirements associated with employee equity compensation, including stock options and RSUs, and coordinate local tax withholding, payroll, reporting, and employer compliance requirements

Oversee tax attributes and incentives, including R&D tax credits and net operating losses, and coordinate ownership-change analyses under Section 382 with external advisors

Treasury

Own global cash management, including daily cash visibility and cash concentration across legal entities, bank accounts, and currencies

Manage banking relationships and the bank account lifecycle, including account openings and closures, signatories, administrative access, and appropriate segregation of duties

Administer Neo4j's debt facilities, including covenant monitoring, interest and fee calculations, lender reporting, and coordination of required deliverables with Accounting, FP&A, and Legal

Manage foreign exchange exposures and recommend practical risk-mitigation appropriate for Neo4j's international revenue, operating costs, and intercompany balances

Oversee the investment of excess cash in accordance with company policy, balancing preservation of capital, liquidity and yield

Structure and administer intercompany funding, loans, settlements, and repatriation in partnership with Tax, Accounting, and Legal

Own treasury policies and controls, including dual approvals, payment and wire controls, bank portal access reviews, fraud prevention, and support for acquisition integration and financing activities

Cross-Functional

Partner with Accounting on the monthly close and financial reporting for cash, debt, interest, FX, intercompany balances, and income taxes, ensuring timely reconciliations and clear ownership of deliverables

Partner with FP&A on liquidity forecasting and with Legal on entity governance, intercompany arrangements, financings, and regulatory requirements

Drive systems and process improvements across NetSuite, tax applications, and banking platforms, and prepare concise reporting for finance leadership as needed

What We're Looking For

7+ years of progressive tax experience, with meaningful exposure to treasury operations; Big 4 or national firm experience is required

Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate and multi-state taxation, ASC 740, and core international tax concepts, including transfer pricing.

Experience with indirect tax issues affecting enterprise software, SaaS, cloud services, professional services and cloud marketplace transactions.

Treasury experience covering global banking, debt administration, intercompany funding, and foreign exchange exposure management

CPA or advanced degree in taxation preferred; CTP or relevant treasury experience is a plus

Experience working across multiple international legal entities within a global, high-growth software company; acquisition integration experience is a plus

Comfortable operating with significant ownership in a lean team, moving fluidly between strategy, technical analysis, process design, and hands-on execution

Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with NetSuite, tax compliance and provision tools, and global banking platforms is preferred

Excellent communication and project-management skills, with the ability to translate complex tax and treasury matters for finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to establish scalable, well-controlled processes and maintain audit-ready documentation in a rapidly evolving environment
