We have an exciting opportunity for a GN&C Engineer t o join the team with ERC , a teammate company!

The GN&C Engineer will:

• •Develop and evaluate safety-critical flight software
• •Develop, integrate, and test GN&C algorithms
• •Utilize MATLAB/Simulink/Autocode skills to update GN&C Flight Software
• •Utilize Python & C/C++ skills to analyze and test GN&C Flight Software
• •Validate and Verify GN&C algorithms and requirements
• •Provide recommendations for improvements of flight software, its processes and procedures
• •Perform deep-dive analyses of flight and simulation software
• •Perform other duties as required

Requisition Qualifications:

• •Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in the field or in a related area.
• •Significant knowledge of GN&C
• •Experience with development and analysis of 6 DOF algorithms and simulations
• •Proficiency with C/C++ and Python
• •Familiarity with validation and verification of GN&C algorithms and requirements
• •Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees

Requisition Preferences:

• •Master’s degree in engineering and 3 years or more of experience in the field or in a related area; or a PhD. in engineering or in a related field
• •Significant experience with C, C++, and Python
• •Significant experience with MATLAB including Simulink, Stateflow, and Autocode
• •Safety and flight-critical embedded software development
• •Experience with source code control and continuous integration
• •Agile software development
• •Experience in the following flight software specialty areas:
• •GN&C software development
• •Software process and procedure development
• •Software Integration and Build Management

• •Experience with Kalman filters, Neural Networks, UDU factorization and/or advanced smoothers
• •Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning
• •Experience with TRICK/JEOD simulation architecture

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
