What you will do

Support the administration of project cost records, change order logs, variation records and claims registers, with guidance from the commercial team as you learn.

Monitor project costs and assist with accurate, timely commercial reporting.

Assist with procuring and letting subcontractor packages, learning how suppliers and subcontractors are selected, priced and managed on live projects.

Support the review and validation of subcontractor and supplier interim payment applications.

Help identify, document and track variations, claims, risks and commercial opportunities.

Develop strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.

Take direction, ask questions and contribute positively to the commercial delivery of successful projects.

What you will learn

The Candidate

We are looking for a motivated graduate who is eager to learn, ask questions, contribute to a team and build a career in quantity surveying with Flynn.

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.

Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with project and commercial teams.

Good written skills and attention to detail.

A willingness to learn, ask questions and act on feedback.

An interest in commercial management, construction project delivery and how projects are planned, costed and controlled.

Basic knowledge of the construction process and site operations.

A strong work ethic, sense of ownership and ability to work as part of a team.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Buildsoft or similar systems is helpful but not essential.
