This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located at 217 West Jones Street, Raleigh - Wake County, with the Department of Environmental Quality.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.50 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.
This position will support NCDEQ's Division of Environmental Assistance and Customer Service with graphic design services up to 40 hours per week, as needed.
Job duties include, but may not be limited to:
- Designing the division's biennial report.
- Updating a series of 1-pagers describing the division's services.
- Additional projects as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in visual/graphic design, commercial art or related area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate’s degree in visual/graphic design, commercial art or related area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of visual/graphic design, commercial art or experience related to the area of assignment; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in visual/graphic design, commercial art, or field related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
