*Starting at $15.00 - $21.00 per hour depending on experience and certification level

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructor to lead engaging fitness classes and promote a healthy lifestyle within our community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate participants of all fitness levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• •Plan and deliver a variety of group exercise classes, including but not limited to aerobics, yoga, pilates, and strength training.
• •Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and fosters community.
• •Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate participants' varying fitness levels and abilities.
• •Monitor participants' form and technique to ensure safety and effectiveness during workouts.
• •Maintain a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm during classes.
• •Stay updated on fitness trends and continuously enhance personal knowledge and skills.
• •Promote classes and engage with participants to build a loyal following.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• •Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
• •Must be at least 18 years of age.
• •High School education or equivalent preferred.
• •6 months or 60 hours of practical experience of group exercise class experience.
• •Must be able to lift in excess of ten pounds.
• •Certification in group exercise instruction from a recognized organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM).
• •Strong knowledge of exercise techniques and principles.
• •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• •Ability to motivate and inspire individuals in a group setting.
• •Experience in leading group fitness classes preferred.
