🩷 About us

At PLG Group, we connect people with culture — from concerts, theatre, and festivals to exhibitions and other live events across the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

PLG Czech Republic consists of three strong local brands with a long tradition: Ticketportal has been on the scene since 2002, GoOut since 2011, and Ticketstream since 2001. Our long-term goal is to provide partners and customers with simple access to every corner of cultural and sports life. On our platforms, everyone can find an event that is just right for them and purchase tickets immediately.

Thanks to the backing of an international company and the combined know-how of three connected local teams, we have access to top-tier technological capabilities. At the same time, our philosophy remains simple: we operate openly, creatively, and close to the people who create culture every day.

💚 Your role

PLG is looking for a Group VP of Engineering to lead our engineering and technology operations through the next phase of growth . You will modernise business-critical platforms, build an AI-native engineering organisation and improve delivery speed, quality, reliability and cost efficiency.

Reporting to the Group CIO, you will lead Heads of Engineering across two product-engineering groups, DevOps, local IT and internal technology support, with overall accountability for engineering management. You will work closely with the VP Product, Chief Architect and CISO.

What you’ll do:

Lead and develop Heads of Engineering and technology-operations leaders, with overall accountability for Engineering Managers. Set clear ownership, strengthen management capability and make necessary organisational and talent changes.

Lead the transition to AI-native and agentic engineering. Personally evaluate workflows, develop team capabilities and scale measurable improvements with appropriate quality, security, privacy and IP controls.

Turn platform strategy into a phased delivery and migration programme, bringing new capabilities into production and retiring legacy systems while protecting business continuity.

Partner with the VP Product on priorities, capacity and credible delivery commitments. Make dependencies, risks and trade-offs visible early.

Establish common engineering standards across development, testing, releases and service ownership. Ensure the Chief Architect’s technical principles translate into delivery and operational practice.

Strengthen DevOps, cloud operations, automation, observability, incident response and recovery, embedding security in partnership with the CISO.

Create a consistent operating model for workplace IT and internal support, with clear service levels, ownership and escalation routes.

Manage budgets, workforce plans and vendors with Finance. Give leadership transparent reporting on performance, investment and risks, supporting the CIO in Board and investor discussions.

What we’re looking for:

Proven experience leading a substantial engineering organisation through Heads of Engineering and Engineering Managers.

A track record of implementing engineering and organisational transformation, including modernising business-critical platforms and completing migrations and legacy retirement.

Direct, practical experience with advanced AI-assisted or agentic development, including orchestration, context management, evaluation and review controls.

Strong technical judgement across architecture, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, testing, reliability and security, alongside an understanding of workplace IT and support operations.

Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, competing priorities and executive stakeholders.

A fair, decisive leadership style: you develop accountable leaders, address underperformance and stay close to technical detail without becoming a bottleneck.

Experience with high-volume transactional platforms, multi-country organisations, post-acquisition integration or investor-backed transformation is an advantage.
