Position Summary

Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of the individuals we serve. By sharing your time and talents, you help create joyful experiences, support therapeutic and recreational activities, and foster meaningful connections within our community.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer duties may vary based on interests, skills, and organizational needs, and may include:

  • Supporting recreational and leisure activities (arts & crafts, games, clubs, special events)
  • Assisting staff during group activities or celebrations
  • Helping with seasonal events, fundraisers, or community outings
  • Providing companionship and positive social interaction
  • Assisting with light administrative or organizational tasks
  • Helping maintain welcoming and engaging program spaces

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers under 16 MUST be accompanied by a caregiver.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful of individuals with diverse abilities
  • Reliable and able to follow directions from staff
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Background check and training required (provided by St. Mary’s Home)
