Description
Om Mushroom is the #1 mushroom brand in retail, and we’ve built a strong business on Amazon. Our own store, ommushrooms.com, is the newest part of the company and the one with the most room to grow. There’s a lot still to build here, which is what makes it such a good seat. The work you do shows up in the numbers quickly.
This role is focused on ommushrooms.com: the site, the offers, and the subscribers who buy there. Amazon and our retail partners are a big part of Om’s business, and you’ll work closely with the teams who run them, but growing our own store is the job.
Why Om?
At Om Mushrooms, we’re building THE MOST desirable total wellness brand powered by mushrooms—with the ambition to become the first supplement company to go from #1 in Retail to #1 in Digital.
We’re a team of entrepreneurial leaders committed to results, anticipating consumer and retailer trends, driving growth for our customers and partners, and fostering a culture biased to action.
Our culture is rooted in A Mushroom Mindset:
- Mushrooms are Rooted in Their Environment – Consumer-Centricity: The consumer is at the core of everything we do.
- Mushrooms Grow Where Others Can’t – Curiosity: We bring open minds and clear voices, continuously asking questions and exploring new possibilities.
- Mushrooms Evolve – Entrepreneurship: We take responsibility, focus on results, and roll up our sleeves to make things happen.
- Mushrooms Grow Efficiently – Velocity: We move with speed and direction, turning ideas into action.
- Mushrooms Heal – Wellness: We value balance, support one another, and create opportunities for growth.
- Mushrooms Rely on Each Other – Community: We believe in the power of connection and building a strong community around the consumers we serve.
The Opportunity
As Digital Commerce & Growth Manager, you’ll own the growth and day-to-day performance of Om’s direct-to-consumer business on ommushrooms.com. Sitting within the Marketing team, this role brings together performance marketing, onsite ecommerce, conversion, retention, and subscription growth.
You own execution on both halves. On acquisition, you direct the media buy, brief and judge the creative, and own the landing pages and offers people land on. On retention, you own the subscription program, the lifecycle program, and the merchandising that grows how much each customer is worth over time. You own the promotional and marketing calendar that sequences all of it.
Amazon and our retail ecommerce partners are important parts of Om’s broader business and are managed separately. You’ll partner closely with those teams, but your focus is growing our owned DTC channel.
How You Work
You’re AI-native. Not “I’ve used ChatGPT.” You have built your own workflows, prompts, or lightweight tools that compressed real work, and you reach for AI before doing something the slow way.
This matters here more than at most brands. Om runs an internal AI system that already handles a large share of DTC analysis, reporting, catalog operations, and creative production. You will be its primary operator, and how much you get out of it is the difference between running one channel and running a whole business by yourself. You don’t need to be an engineer. You need to be the kind of person who has already replaced parts of their own job with it.
What You'll Do
Acquisition & Paid Media
- Run the day-to-day paid program across Meta and Google, working through our media agency: budgets, pacing, campaign structure, and weekly optimization against CAC and MER targets.
- Own the creative pipeline for performance. Write the briefs, pick the angles, pressure-test the hooks, and judge what’s working from the data instead of from taste. You should be able to look at an ad and say why it’s failing.
- Own landing pages, offers, and promo mechanics end to end. Build them, test them, and keep the calendar honest.
- Manage SEO, blog, and affiliate as supporting acquisition surfaces, including the product placements inside content.
- Keep tracking trustworthy. UTMs, consent, server-side events, and conversion actions all have to be right or every number above is fiction.
Site, Merchandising & CRO
- Own ommushrooms.com on Shopify Plus: day-to-day merchandising, navigation, PDPs, collection pages, discounts, and promo banners.
- Run the queue with our web agency. Write clear briefs, prioritize the backlog, and QA every build before it goes live.
- Run A/B and price/offer tests, read them honestly, and ship the winners.
- Support our sister brand, Mushroom Matrix, on the same stack (roughly 15% of the work), including its pet line.
Retention, Subscription & Customer Value
- Grow what each customer is worth. This is a number you carry, not a byproduct. You raise it through cross-sell into adjacent products, upsell into larger pack sizes and better plans, bundle attach, post-purchase offers, and keeping people engaged between orders.
- Own the subscription program in Skio: subscription start rate, cancel and save flows, swaps, skips, pauses, dunning, plan upgrades, and pricing changes.
- Own the email and SMS relationship with our lifecycle agency. Review and approve every send, plan the flows and campaigns, and hold the work to brand and offer accuracy.
- Build the loyalty and repeat-purchase side of the business: reviews, referrals, win-backs, replenishment moments, and the reasons a customer comes back a fourth time.
- Hold yourself to the metrics that prove it worked. Churn, net dollar retention, repeat rate, average order value, and cohort payback decide whether the acquisition spend was worth making.
Analytics & Reporting
- Own the weekly DTC read-out: what happened, why, and what we’re changing.
- Track CAC, MER, conversion rate, subscription start rate, churn, and cohort payback against plan, and flag drift early.
- Own the DTC forecast and the media budget. Know where every dollar went and what it returned.
- Turn analysis into a next action. A report that doesn’t change a decision isn’t finished.
Calendar, Agencies & Escalations
- Own the DTC promotional and marketing calendar. Every sale, launch, campaign, send, and site moment across both brands lives on one calendar that you build and defend. You set the sequence, hold the dependencies, and make sure nothing ships into a conflict or a gap.
- Manage three agency relationships day to day: media buying, web development, and email/SMS. Set the priorities, write the briefs, hold the deadlines, and check the work.
- Be the last stop on hard customer problems. When Customer Service hits something they can’t solve, it comes to you: subscription billing disputes, discounts that won’t apply, flow and segmentation gating, checkout failures, tracking gaps, loyalty and review issues. You diagnose it, fix it at the platform level, and document it so it doesn’t come back.
- Partner with the Amazon team to protect our pricing structure. What a product sells for on Amazon sets the floor for what we can charge and discount on our own site, so DTC pricing, promotions, and subscription offers get built in step with them rather than around them.
- Coordinate with Brand on creative and messaging, and with Operations and Supply Chain on inventory and launch timing.
Team & Culture
- Manage and develop our Marketing Coordinator.
- Work in a small, senior, fast-moving team where the person who spots the problem is usually the person who fixes it.
- Bring a resourceful, entrepreneurial mindset that mirrors Om’s mission-driven culture.
Requirements
Who You Are
- 4+ years in ecommerce, DTC, growth marketing, or digital commerce, ideally within CPG, wellness, or natural products.
- A track record of using AI to build workflows or tools that replaced real work. Be ready to walk us through one.
- Hands-on in Shopify and Klaviyo. Not “I’ve overseen it.” You’ve been in the admin.
- Working knowledge of a subscription platform (Skio, Recharge, or similar) and what actually moves churn.
