We are hiring a Hazardous Materials Handler to join our Finished Goods team!

DISCOVER

Are you knowledgeable in how to properly handle and ship hazardous materials? The Materials Handler’s top priorities are to safely and accurately receive, stock, pull, pack and prepare service parts and chemicals for hazardous shipments destined for domestic and international areas for less

than truckloads (LTL), truckloads (TL), ocean, air and small parcel (UPS, FedEx, DHL) shipments. You will prepare shipments by properly labeling, marking, and correctly identifying hazardous and non-hazardous shipments while following International Air Transportation Association (IATA), International Marine Dangerous Goods (IMDG), and Department of Transportation (DOT) CFR-49standards as well as creating hazardous materials declaration shipping papers and creating commercial invoices for U.S. Customs and abroad.

YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT

Is attention to detail your strong suit? As a Materials Handler, you will count delivered materials for accuracy and close incoming transfers in the enterprise resource planning

(ERP) system. After receiving the material, you’ll safely stock incoming materials on their respective designated racks.

Can you operate a forklift? Other duties include loading and unloading pallets and boxes from trailers using a forklift and/or pallet jack, loading pallets into trailers and securing with load locks or other safety locking devices, in addition to moving material from the Finished Goods receiving area to the Finished Goods stocking locations.

Are you well-versed in hazardous shipping regulations? You will need to verify quantity and part numbers and then prepare orders for shipment by labeling, marking, and identifying as well as preparing Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD) forms for hazardous materials shipments according to the following standards:

o Ground shipments including LTL, TL, and small parcel (UPS, FedEx) using DOT CFR-49 standards.

o Air shipments including heavyweight pallets (bulk cargo) and small parcel (UPS, FedEx) using IATA standards for cargo only and passenger aircraft shipments.

o Ocean shipments including less than container loads (LCL) and full container loads (FCL) using IMDG standards.

Are you quality focused? Before shipping you’ll review a hazardous materials checklist to properly determine if material adheres to federal standards for shipping. You are also responsible for the inspection and restocking of sales return order (SRO) parts as well as accurately processing cash on delivery (COD) and non-COD shipments through UPS and FedEx systems.

Do you have computer skills? You will routinely run and close End of Day online reports for UPS, FedEx, and DHL shipments. When needed, you’ll order weekly shipping supplies from small parcel shippers (UPS, FedEx, DHL). Additionally, you will conduct cycle counts and perform adjustments in the ERP system, lookup part availability through the inventory system, and assist with questions regarding inventory and back-order availability.
