Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Handyman to join our Melbourne team. This is a mobile role working across multiple sites, providing exposure to a diverse range of buildings, systems and equipment within a professional facilities management environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Trades Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing preventative and reactive maintenance services across multiple client sites throughout Melbourne.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out general building repairs and maintenance across multiple sites
  • Travelling between sites to respond to maintenance requirements
  • Troubleshooting and assisting with repairs to building systems and equipment
  • Completing basic plumbing, HVAC, mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Carrying out carpentry, painting, patching and general building works
  • Repairing and replacing ceiling tiles, door hardware and other building finishes
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests, breakdowns and emergency situations
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance and servicing of building equipment
  • Using tools, technology and building management systems to complete maintenance tasks safely and efficiently
  • Working across secure facilities and following all site security, access and safety procedures
  • Participating in a rotating on-call roster as required
  • Supporting the wider facilities team and working across different sites as required

Please note this role services a range of secure facilities, including a maximum-security correctional facility, and requires adherence to strict security and operational procedures.

About You

We're looking for a practical, motivated professional who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

To be successful, you will have:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a commercial property, facilities or maintenance environment
  • Technical, trade, vocational or hands-on maintenance experience
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and a good driving record
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to travel between sites, participate in an on-call roster and work overtime when required
  • Ability to pass all required background, security and site-specific clearances

The successful candidate will be required to complete and maintain all relevant checks and clearances for the role.
