Hardware Development Engineer, Asia Development Center

The Role will support circuit and board-level design, participate in system bring-up and debug activities, and work with ODM/OEM partners through various stages of product development. You will collaborate with firmware and software teams to resolve hardware-software integration issues, analyze field returns and failure data to identify root causes, and contribute to design improvements for ESD/EMI performance and power management. Travel to partner sites is part of the role, with opportunities to work on-site with manufacturing and development partners.

• Key job responsibilities
• In this role, you will:
• - Lead multiple electrical design and validation on multiple products across Amazon device portfolio
• - Research test/validation technologies and methodologies across factory and lab environment
• - Develop and execute detailed electrical validation test plans to ensure functional and parametric conformance for various sub-systems including Memory
• - Drive debug and root cause of hardware design issues, qualifying trade-offs and user impact
• - Support integration of memory components into the broad range of Amazon HW devices.
• - Provide on-site electrical engineering support at manufacturing facilities in China
• - Drive hardware bring-up, debug, and failure analysis at manufacturing sites
• - Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and manufacturing process optimization
• - Own and resolve electrical design issues across xVT phases, while driving validation status reporting across mile-stone gates
• - Leverage AI tools and/or write scripts where feasible to automate for efficiency
• - Support positive team interactions to accomplish program objectives
• - Coach or mentor junior electrical engineers

Basic qualifications

• - Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout
• - Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
• - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 2+ years of experience in consumer electronic product design, OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE)
• - 1+ years of experience with system-level circuit design, system bring-up, integration, or debug
• - 1+ years of experience with low-power circuit design, DC/DC converters, or power management circuits
• - Knowledge of processor architecture, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, USB, etc.
• - 1+ years of experience working with ODM/OEMs across product development stages (design, build, test)

Preferred qualifications

• - Experience in wireless system design and architecture, system integration, and RF system analysis
• - Experience with analog, digital, and high-speed circuit design
• - Experience with mixed-signal board-level design
• - Experience with digital circuit design and communication protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, or I2S
• - Experience developing designs for ESD/EMI immunity and RF de-sensitization
• - Experience designing products for wireless networks (GSM, UMTS, LTE)
• - Experience with DFM and DFT processes for consumer electronics manufacturing
• - Experience collaborating with software or firmware teams on drivers, firmware, or algorithms
• - Experience communicating technical concepts and design trade-offs to cross-functional team members
