Haul Truck Operator

Description

York Building Products is seeking a safety-focused and dependable Haul Truck Operator to join our quarry operations team. In this role, you will safely transport shot rock, finished stone, plant waste, and other materials throughout the quarry while helping maintain efficient production and safe operations.

What You'll Do

• •Safely operate haul trucks throughout the quarry.
• •Transport materials to designated stockpiles and production areas.
• •Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections.
• •Complete daily equipment checklists and report maintenance concerns.
• •Follow all company safety procedures and MSHA regulations.
• •Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to support efficient operations.
• •Maintain accurate documentation of equipment condition and work completed.
• •Assist with other quarry activities, including cleanup, road maintenance, excavation support, and plant operations as needed.
• •Maintain a professional attitude with coworkers, customers, and management.

Required Qualifications

• •Previous experience operating haul trucks or heavy equipment.
• •Commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices.
• •Ability to perform equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• •Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• •Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• •Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Experience in quarrying, mining, aggregate production, or related industries.
• •Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment.

Working Conditions

This position is based in an active quarry environment and includes exposure to:

• •Dust, noise, and vibration
• •Moving heavy equipment
• •Outdoor weather conditions year-round
• •Uneven terrain and changing site conditions

Strict adherence to safety policies and MSHA regulations is required at all times.

Physical Requirements

• •Lift up to 50 pounds.
• •Climb on and off heavy equipment safely.
• •Sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
• •Walk, bend, stoop, and perform equipment inspections.
• •Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Travel

Travel between company facilities may occasionally be required based on operational needs.
