Hawker

Position Summary

A Hawker is responsible for preparing, handling, and selling food or beverages in a fast-paced, high-volume environment such as markets, festivals, food stands, or outdoor venues. This role requires strong customer service skills, efficiency, and strict adherence to food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• •Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established recipes and standards
• •Set up, operate, and break down food stalls, carts, or booths
• •Engage with customers in a friendly, energetic manner to drive sales
• •Handle cash, POS systems, and mobile payments accurately
• •Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation at all times
• •Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs
• •Follow all local health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• •Upsell menu items and promote specials or featured products
• •Work efficiently under high-volume conditions, especially during peak service times

Qualifications

• •Previous food service, street food, or concession experience preferred
• •Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• •Strong communication and customer service skills
• •Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
• •Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 25–50 lbs
• •Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
