Join Boehringer Ingelheim's CMC Development Biologicals organization and play a key leadership role within the Quality Control team, where you will influence strategic decisions, engage with regulatory authorities and scientific communities, and advance innovative solutions across our development pipeline. Leading a team of highly ambitious experts, you will help strengthen our microbiological and viral safety capabilities while delivering scientific and regulatory excellence for patients worldwide.

  • This position has a hybrid setup with a minimum of 3 days per week on site.
  • Tasks & responsibilities
  • In your new role, you will lead your team by providing clear directions, prioritizing tasks and developing strategies.
  • Furthermore, you will contribute to the Quality Control Leadership Team by making continuous improvements, strengthening the team's impact across the development value chain, and leading project-related initiatives.
  • You will also Initiate and lead innovation projects by identifying strategic needs in the organization
  • In addition, you will develop and maintain solid microbial and virus-safety strategies.
  • You will actively contribute and influence the scientific and regulatory community by representing Boehringer Ingelheim at conferences and in industry consortia
  • Finally, you will shape the microbiology network within Boehringer Ingelheim and ensure seamless interfaces.
  • Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent advanced degree in Virology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Biology or Biochemistry, or a related quantitative scientific discipline
  • Strong scientific expertise in microbiology and virology, with a proven ability to apply knowledge in a research and development environment
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to microbiology and virology
  • Solid knowledge of Novel Biological Entity (NBE) development principles, processes, and associated requirements
  • Passion for innovation and emerging technologies, particularly in the detection, characterization, and monitoring of viruses and microorganisms
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, supported by a strong professional network
