We help people live their best lives . We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Audit (Technology and Transformation) to join our Internal Audit team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of the Internal Audit leadership team, you'll build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, as well as external professional bodies and regulators. You'll be comfortable influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders, providing robust feedback and helping drive positive outcomes across technology and transformation initiatives.

We're looking for a strategic and collaborative leader who combines strong technical and audit expertise with excellent people leadership skills. You'll lead and develop a high-performing team while maintaining oversight of a diverse audit portfolio, helping to shape audit strategy and support the organisation in managing technology and transformation risk effectively.

It's an exciting time to join Aegon as we continue to invest in technology, digital innovation and business transformation. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, influence strategic decision-making and play a key role in shaping the future direction of Technology and Transformation Audit.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and lead the UK Technology and Transformation audit strategy, ensuring effective delivery of the IT audit plan across the business.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders, including CTO, executive leaders and Audit Committee, providing independent assurance and expert insight on technology and operational risks.
  • Oversee and deliver a portfolio of IT, technology and change audits, covering areas such as cloud technologies, cyber security, operational resilience and emerging technologies.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of IT audit professionals, supporting their ongoing growth and career progression.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, regulators and professional bodies, influencing positive outcomes and driving continuous improvement.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong track record of working in a similar level role within a large organisation with ability to focus on regulatory and specific IT risk insight.
  • Proven experience advising, supporting, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of IT governance, risk management and control frameworks, with the ability to provide independent assurance over technology and transformation activities.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of IT, particularly digital cloud-based technologies, IT security, operational resilience, and emerging technology application in business.
  • Proven people management skills to lead and develop IT Audit team members.
  • Strong track record of supporting audit assurance on full end to end change projects of all sizes.

What’s in it for you?

  • We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
  • 38 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)
