The Role:
We are hiring a Head of Content to join our Corporate Marketing team. The Corporate Marketing team is responsible for growing the Blue Owl brand and supporting the firm in its ambition to be one of the preeminent firms in the asset management industry. Our goal is to raise the firm’s visibility by using our global marketing and communications platform to support our firm, its publicly-traded vehicles, and its sales and client marketing efforts. We seek to deliver the most effective, innovative, and scalable ways to express the traits that set Blue Owl apart.
The Head of Content will be responsible for defining, operationalizing, and managing the firm’s overarching corporate-level content strategy. This individual will orchestrate the effective use of existing content; establish a cohesive strategic framework for how corporate-level content is developed, prioritized, governed, and distributed; and ensure the firm’s strongest, unique perspectives are elevated consistently and at scale.
The role is designed for a highly-motivated, self-directed leader who is comfortable operating in situations without an established playbook. The Head of Content will partner closely with teams across corporate marketing, client marketing, communications, investment platforms, investor relations, legal, and compliance to align on corporate-level content priorities, influence shared processes, and improve how content is created, used, and distributed. The position also involves providing leadership to the firm’s video program, ensuring video is integrated into the broader content ecosystem and deployed strategically to support business and brand objectives.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive global social media strategy that aligns with Blue Owl’s business objectives, reinforces brand positioning, and drives measurable commercial impact globally.
Lead the concepting, writing, and development of high-quality, social-first content across all social media channels, ensuring platform-native copy, compelling visual assets, and cohesive brand storytelling to capture attention and drive engagement.
Plan, execute, and optimize social media campaigns, leveraging data and performance insights to continuously refine strategy and exceed key growth metrics.
Partner with Client Marketing, business leaders, and subject matter experts to translate complex investment themes into clear, engaging, and visually compelling social narratives.
Collaborate with Brand Strategy to define and maintain a on-brand voice, visual identity, and messaging framework across all social platforms.
Partner with Communications and Compliance on community management: developing clear governance protocols and response strategies to manage potential risks across social channels.
Establish clear performance benchmarks and frameworks, translating analytics into actionable insights and executive-level recommendations that demonstrate social media’s contribution to business objectives, regularly presenting findings to senior leadership. Analyze data to gain insights into audience behavior, preferences, and trends, and use them to inform strategy and decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
10+ plus years of experience building and scaling content in accordance with a well-defined content strategy, preferably within financial services
Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable defining vision and driving execution
Deep appreciation for content as a strategic asset, with demonstrable experience managing content, and building processes, governance frameworks, and scalable content operations within complex organizations
Ability to manage a variety of internal and external partners and vendors, including copywriters, graphic designers, editors, and proofreaders
Outstanding skills in organization, prioritization, and time management
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently; drive clarity in ambiguous environments; build relationships and consensus across cross-functional teams; and manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity managing content approvals cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, and multiple senior stakeholders
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $275,000-$300,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
