Job description
Head — Strategy, Transformation and Change Management
Business: Workplace Management, India
Reports to: Managing Director, Workplace Management, India
Role summary
The Head — Strategy, Transformation and Change Management will own the strategy for the Workplace Management business in India and lead the change that delivers it. You will be accountable for where the business competes, how it grows and how it operates, and you will personally lead the programs and the people change that put the strategy into practice.
You will work with the Managing Director and the business leadership team to shape priorities for growth, client experience, service excellence, talent and operating efficiency across the India portfolio. You will also lead the capability agenda for the business, working with JLL Academy to build the leadership and technical bench that Workplace Management needs to scale.
This role suits a leader who can set direction, make hard prioritization calls and stay with the work through implementation.
Key responsibilities
Strategy ownership
Own the Workplace Management India strategy and the annual planning cycle, including growth priorities, client segments, service lines, geographic focus and investment choices.
Analyze the India workplace and facilities market, client demand, competitor moves and white-space opportunities, and turn the findings into decisions for the leadership team.
Define the business’s targets and the measures that track them, and be accountable for progress against them.
Build the business case for new service offerings, partnerships, technology investments and market expansion.
Connect India strategy with global and regional Workplace Management priorities, so India’s plans reflect the wider JLL direction.
Enterprise transformation
Lead the transformation roadmap for Workplace Management India, covering operating model, service delivery, productivity, technology adoption and cost-to-serve.
Identify opportunities to improve account performance, site operations and cross-functional collaboration, and drive them through to results.
Set up program governance, with named owners, milestones and benefit tracking, and report outcomes to the Managing Director.
Run a portfolio view across programs so that priorities, resources and dependencies are managed in one place.
Change management implementation
Lead implementation of change management for every major program, including impact assessment, stakeholder mapping, communication, training, adoption tracking and reinforcement.
Work directly with account leaders, site teams and functional heads to put new ways of working into daily operations, from corporate teams through to site-level staff.
Build change leadership among business and account leaders, so managers lead change within their own teams.
Measure adoption and act on what the data shows, adjusting the approach where uptake falls short.
Build a culture of continuous improvement, client-centricity and learning.
Capability building and JLL Academy
Lead the India capability agenda for Workplace Management with JLL Academy and business leaders.
Design and scale learning programs in leadership development, client-centricity, operational excellence and transformation skills.
Strengthen the leadership pipeline and succession readiness, with a focus on account and operations leadership.
Partner with external institutions, industry experts and learning platforms where they strengthen the business.
Innovation and incubation
Identify and incubate new programs and service ideas that improve client outcomes, business performance and employee experience.
Bring in market insight and practice from other industries and geographies.
Stakeholder management
Partner with the Managing Director and the Workplace Management India leadership team.
Work with JLL India functions, regional teams and global Workplace Management leaders to align priorities.
Represent the strategy and transformation agenda to clients, partners and industry bodies where required.
Ideal candidate profile
Proven leadership in strategy, transformation, operations, consulting or general management, ideally in facilities management, workplace services, real estate or a related services business.
A record of owning a strategy and delivering it, with measurable business results.
Hands-on experience implementing change in large, people-intensive operations.
Formal change management experience, with examples of adoption that was measured and sustained.
Deep understanding of the Indian business environment and client landscape.
Experience working across a matrixed organization and with senior client stakeholders.
