- Program Summary
- The Community Health and Wellness sector provides services that support the physical, behavioral, and emotional health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Our staff are certified Traditional Health Workers (such as Community Health Workers (CHW), Peer Support Specialists (PSS), and Doulas) who offer direct services such as healthcare and systems navigation, health insurance enrollment, physical and emotional health support, adjustment support, mental health resource navigation, and client-directed case management. We also engage in community outreach and physical and emotional health education via community workshops, psycho-education support groups, and by hosting monthly health clinics that provide dental services, health services, and community resource information.
- Position Summary
- The Health and Wellness Sector Specialist 2 is a vital support to sector management and colleagues. This person will facilitate program paperwork, correspondence, special projects, data entry and recordkeeping, project management and event planning, using their strong administrative skills. The individual will bear primary responsibility for entering complete and accurate data into multiple database systems, which means quick and accurate typing/data entry will be important skills. The role requires interpersonal communication and the ability to work across multiple program teams. A trauma-informed and compassionate approach to social services, and strong time and task management.?
Essential Functions
- Possess and apply an impeccable degree of confidentiality and utilize knowledge of laws about confidentiality, disclosures, and release of information.
- Utilize a client-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed empowerment model.
- Manage data entry processes into internal databases as well as funder provided ?
- systems to accurately track program outcomes for management teams; flag data entry/data quality issues.?
- Maintain orderly filing systems for program files including client files, program protocols, and community resources.?
- Assist with a variety of administration functions, including ordering and maintaining office supply inventory, Amazon purchase, photocopying, and filing as needed.
- Prepare or provide editorial support for program documents such as outreach and event flyers, forms, presentation or training materials, client folders and/or other program-related documents as requested.
- Provide general administrative support to Sector Manager and Coordinators, such as assisting in staff hiring processes, gathering required data from team members, preparing reports or other documents for programs, attending meetings as assigned.?
- Actively participate in regular internal meetings, trainings, and community events (as appropriate), and as requested, record and send meeting minutes and other notes for Coordinators and Manager.
- Provide administrative and logistical on-site support for community and outreach events. Assist with planning, hosting and implementing the IRCO Annual Health Fair.?
- Support with calendars and scheduling.
- Meet multiple, frequently overlapping deadlines.?
- Complete sector special projects and other duties, as assigned.?
Requirements
Education & Experience
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in public health, social work, counseling, and/or human services related field.?
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a related field and current certification as a Community Health Workers, Peer Support Specialist (PSS), Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM), Birth Doula, or another Traditional Health Worker (THW) is preferred.?
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and knowledge of Oregon Medicaid programs and billing preferred.
- Understanding the social determinants and impacts of health and its intersections with violence, poverty, and homelessness.?
- Must have knowledge and understanding of immigrant and refugee populations and challenges/dynamics; cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- An effective and compassionate communicator, both verbally and in writing, and has excellent active listening skills to identify the needs of our clients.
- Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and community members.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability along with an ability and willingness to learn and use new software after initial training.
- Knowledge of database systems, such as MMIS and Comparable Sites, and record keeping best practices; systems and development of systems to record and report program data.
- Ability to quickly and accurately enter large quantities of data; maintain strict client confidentiality protocols; and accurately compile, analyze, and interpret data.
- Understand and follow complex written and oral instructions and procedures; work independently and be a vital and contributing part of a team.
- Ability to complete many short- and long-term tasks and projects on different timelines simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail, with analytical and problem-solving abilities.?
- Ability to pass an extensive background check.?

- Physical: Positions at this level require minimal physical effort such as light lifting, carrying or movement, etc. Physical capability involves use of office or equipment where some agility and hand eye coordination is needed.?

Supervisory Responsibilities
Positions at this level are not responsible for any supervisory functions or responsibilities but may occasionally be asked to orient and/or train new employees or volunteers.?
