We develop advanced tools to deliver predictive, personalized insights to empower individuals and organizations to make data-driven decisions, promoting longer, healthier lives. VOLO Health is dedicated to developing a data-science-driven approach to assess, track, and improve healthspan. Volo Health is seeking a Product Design Manager to lead our in-house product design team and provide user experience direction for mobile and web application features across Volo Health products. This is a hybrid role: the ideal candidate is both a strong hands-on designer who will personally own and execute design work, and an effective people leader able to set design strategy, mentor and grow a small team of designers, and ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience across the product life cycle.
Summary of Job Functions
The Product Design Manager will be responsible for the following. This role carries a significant individual contributor (IC) design workload alongside its management duties — it is not a management-only position:
Personally owning and executing design work on a subset of projects — including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups — with the same hands-on involvement expected of any product designer on the team
Leading and managing a team of product designers, providing day-to-day direction, mentorship, and professional development
Setting design vision and strategy for Volo Health's mobile and web applications, and ensuring the team's work ladders up to that strategy
Reviewing and guiding the rest of the team's wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to ensure quality, consistency, and effective communication of UI/UX concepts
Establishing and maintaining design standards, systems, and best practices across all digital products
Partnering with cross-functional leaders in product, engineering, and operations to align design output with product roadmap and business goals
Managing team workload, prioritization, and delivery timelines across concurrent projects
Translating product goals into functional user experiences throughout each stage of the product life cycle
Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep our products competitive and innovative
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Engineering, or another related field
At least 7 years of UX/product design experience, including experience for mobile product design
At least 2 years of experience directly managing or formally mentoring other designers
Must have an understanding of native mobile app design guidelines for iOS and Android
Proficiency in digital design tools, such as Figma
Experience in all phases of the user experience design process, including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
A well-rounded UI/UX portfolio demonstrating both strong individual design work and experience leading or mentoring a design team
Strong leadership, communication, and creative problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
Preferred Skills and Previous Experience
Experience building, scaling, or restructuring a product design team
Experience with marketing and/or communication design
Experience managing consumer products leveraging AI, machine learning, and personalization, with a proven track record of prioritizing and successfully launching impactful products
Strong data analysis skills to inform design decisions
Working knowledge of interactive design, animation, and illustration
Ability to work on-site in Jupiter, Florida
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive base salary
Health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance
