Location: Coatesville, PA

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Health & Safety Specialist at our Coatesville facility. In this role, you will partner with operations, maintenance, preparation plant, loadout, and support teams to promote a strong safety culture, support employee well-being, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will have a direct impact on reducing risk, preventing incidents, improving workplace safety, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety programs aligned with Core Values, policies, and strategic objectives.
  • Maintain an active presence in operational areas to provide safety coaching, mentoring, and guidance to employees and contractors.
  • Promote a culture of Safe Production through employee engagement, hazard recognition, and proactive risk reduction.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with OSHA, and applicable state and local health, and safety regulations through inspections, audits, and policy reviews.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits to identify risks and verify corrective actions.
  • Participate in incident, injury, near miss, and equipment damage investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with supervisors and leadership teams to strengthen safety accountability and reinforce safe work practices
  • Act as a trusted resource, problem solver, coach, and change agent to support continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Health and Safety position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), team building, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Health regulations
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
