The Healthcare Project Manager will serve as an owner’s representative, leading healthcare capital projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning, activation, and closeout. This role will manage multidisciplinary teams and oversee project scope, budget, schedule, quality, risk, and stakeholder coordination.

The ideal candidate brings strong healthcare construction experience and is adept at delivering projects within active and occupied healthcare environments, where patient safety, clinical operations, infection prevention, and continuity of care are critical considerations. These priorities are also reflected in STV's prior healthcare PM requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the owner’s representative for healthcare capital improvement, renovation, MEP infrastructure, expansion, and new construction projects.
  • Manage projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, activation, turnover, and closeout.
  • Lead and coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors, healthcare leadership, facilities teams, and clinical stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, contracts, change orders, invoices, pay applications, and project controls.
  • Monitor project milestones, risks, and deliverables, proactively resolving issues affecting cost, schedule, quality, or operations.
  • Oversee design and construction activities for alignment with contract requirements, quality standards, applicable regulations, and client objectives.
  • Coordinate construction activities within occupied healthcare facilities while minimizing impacts on patients, staff, and clinical operations.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide clear reporting on schedule, budget, risks, decisions, and overall project performance.
  • Support procurement, contractor selection, bid evaluation, and contract administration.
  • Coordinate utility shutdowns, equipment relocations, commissioning, phased occupancy, and other operationally sensitive activities.
  • Support compliance with healthcare safety and operational protocols, including Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM). These requirements appear specifically in STV's prior healthcare PM material.
  • Mentor junior project team members and support consistent project management best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, building sciences, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of project management or construction management experience, with significant experience delivering healthcare or similarly complex institutional projects.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as an owner’s representative, project manager, program manager, or construction manager.
  • Experience managing healthcare projects, preferably including those valued at $10 million or greater. The $10 million threshold is consistent with STV's prior healthcare PM requirements.
  • Experience delivering projects in occupied and operational healthcare environments.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare planning, design, construction, MEP infrastructure, commissioning, activation, and closeout.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, change management, project controls, and risk.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicate with executives, healthcare leadership, clinical users, consultants, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and construction/project management software. These platforms are also identified in STV's existing healthcare PM materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced, operationally sensitive environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CCM, PE, LEED AP, or another relevant professional certification.
  • Experience delivering projects for acute care hospitals, Ambulatory care and outpatient facilities, Surgical centers, medical office buildings, research and laboratory facilities, Pharmaceutical or life sciences facilities
  • Experience with complex MEP infrastructure upgrades, utility shutdowns, commissioning, and renovations within occupied facilities.
  • Knowledge of ICRA, ILSM, infection prevention practices, hospital operations, phased occupancy, and healthcare project turnover.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulation, accreditation, life safety, and facility requirements.
