Host/Hostess

Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The host/hostess welcomes guests and seats them at tables.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• •Provide guests with menus
• •Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings
• •Speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, or to respond to questions and complaints
• •Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfers calls
• •Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and guests to ensure that dining details are handled properly and guests’ concerns are addressed
• •Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
• •Inform guests of establishment specialties and features
• •Receive and record guests' dining reservations
• •Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and cleans restrooms when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• •Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers
• •Possess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and culture
• •Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• •Must be at least 21 years of age
• •Minimum of 1 years’ experience

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• •Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
• •Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day.
• •Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• •Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop and carry
• •Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
• •Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and guest traffic.
• •Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
